I attached the waistband, then did the clasp closing. I then realized I COULD fix the scallops on the bottom of the skirt and proceeded to burn myself doing it.

Now we're taking a nice break before going back to finish the bottom and start drafting the side bow after dinner. Oww.

Tomorrow's goals:

sewing trim to scallop

sew scallop to waist

add waist attach for the part not covered by the zipper

Start drafting side bow

Very productive day.

I finished and sewed on the back ribbons. next time I need to add seam allowance because... yeah. Nice going, me.

Next up: waistband. But I'm taking a break until 5 because being hunched over my sewing machine means my back hurts.

Panels were sewn, I definitely preferred sewn vs vinyl. I also designed and cut out both the ribbons and the heart attachment for the back bow. Tomorrow I'll sew them together. I'm planning on slightly stuffing the hearts and using the sewn in ending to make the loop for the jump ring to attach to, but we'll see how that goes.

Special shout out to my laptop screen for acting as a impromptu light box to trace the heart I designed. Good job, buddy!

:) started sewing. Lost my presser foot screw. Can't find it, think it rolled under my bed and into a gap in the floor boards. Not getting that one back...

#I hate everything rn lol #I think I'm gonna watch Meitantei with my cosplay block later #x2 should get me through mosto f it #It's 9 episodes so around 216 minutes #I usually skip OP and EDs and sometimes transformation scenes so that's about 20 minutes gone #Add in the fact it's gonna be in half #and I can finish in around 2 hours

I tested iron on vinyl panels. They came out kinda stiff, I don't think I'm a fan. I'll compare it to the sewed on section later and make my decision based on that.

I miscounted my panels. They were far too big. Will remember that for final version.

Also, I have decided the panels have to go on BEFORE sewing and cutting. It gets weird if I don't. But that means I have to do the plaid and panels before sewing anything together, so I'll have to really think about my seam allowances as I work.

The darker pink panels may become iron on vinyl. Haven't decided yet. Going to consult with my senpais on that one.

The panels were measured and cut. They're not perfect, but this is the mockup + I'll be hiding that side with my side bow anyway. I'll probably pin them on after dinner and start sewing tomorrow.

I have poked myself many times with pins. My leg hurts. I am tired. When does the fun start, lol...

Scallops were sewed. Fucked them up somehow, but that's ok this is the mockup, we'll figure it out by the second underskirt. I'm just doing this for length rn.

Tomorrow is gonna be ironing + figuring out the darker pink panel placement and size. If I finish that, I'll cut the panels out this week and sew them on this weekend. Once that's done, it'll be back ribbon time. Eventually we'll move on to scalloped waistband and the side bow.

Just gonna keep on trucking, we're learning as we go.
