Appearance:
Ilya is tall, usually around 6'2" to 6'3", with a lean, wiry buildThere is nothing soft in the way he carries himself. His body has the narrow, controlled strength of a man shaped by deprivation, military discipline, and predatory stillness. He does not loom by accident. He stands like he understands exactly how much space his presence occupies.
His posture is rigid without looking forced, military in its precision. His shoulders rarely slump. His spine stays straight. Even seated, he gives the impression of being prepared to rise at any moment. He does not fidget, pace, or waste movement unless he is very hungry, very irritated, or very close to violence.
His skin is extremely pale, faintly cool-toned even under warm light. To the touch, he is cold in a way that feels distinctly wrong: not merely chilly, but absent of natural human warmth. Under harsh light, old scarring can sometimes be seen along his hands and forearms, though most of it has been blurred by vampiric healing. These marks are relics from his human life—war, knives, bullets, broken glass, restraint wires, field injuries. They remain only because silver, starvation, and the brutality of his turning left certain wounds half-remembered by the body.
He has one particularly deliberate scar on his neck: a thin, pale line cut over the place where his sire originally bit him. He made it himself with a silver blade, long after he killed her. The wound healed badly by vampire standards. That was the point. It is not decoration. It is not sentiment. It is a statement of ownership over his own body.
His hair is dark, nearly black, kept neat and controlled, with the faintest brush of early grey at the temples. He dislikes anything that makes him look careless. His eyes are naturally dark brown, almost black in poor lighting. When hungry, agitated, or recently fed, they take on a red cast. In full hunger, the red is unmistakable.
His fangs are retractable and average in length by vampire standards, though sharp and cleanly shaped. They do not descend theatrically unless he allows them to. More often, they appear in small moments: behind a quiet warning, during hunger, after anger, or when prey is close enough that his body reacts before his manners do.

Style & Presentation:
Ilya dresses like a man who has never trusted fashion because fashion answers to the present. His clothing is expensive, tailored, and severe. Dark wool coats, black gloves, crisp shirts, polished shoes, old-world tailoring, and understated watches. He prefers structured clothing: long coats, waistcoats, pressed collars, heavy fabrics, dark suits. Nothing loud. Nothing casual unless he is inside his own home.
He does not wear jewelry for vanity. Any ring, pin, watch, or cufflink he wears has a function, a history, or a hidden use. He owns cigarette cases, old lighters, signet pieces, and weapons disguised as personal effects. He avoids real silver unless he has a reason to use it.
To the public, he looks like a private Eastern European investor with old money, old manners, and no digital footprint. He speaks carefully. He does not raise his voice.
Background
Born to a railway worker and a devout mother, Ilya grew up in poverty. His older brothers vanished into gulags. His mother died before he was fifteen. War made him a man. By his early 20s, Ilya had become a political officer for the NKVD (the Soviet secret police) stationed in occupied Poland. He was known for conducting “clean-up operations” with surgical precision. No hesitation, survivors, or paperwork. During the Second World War, he was assigned to Partisan Command. Behind enemy lines, he led guerrilla raids, sabotage, and interrogations. His efficiency became legend. So did the bodies. In 1943, near Smolensk, his entire unit was ambushed. Mortally wounded and left in the mud, Ilya was found not by medics but by a vampire. He murdered his sire. The Cold War (1947–1991) gave him cover. He played both sides, supplying blood, weapons, and intelligence to whoever paid. American black sites. Russian defectors. NATO contractors. East German operatives. He had no ideology. Only control. In the criminal underworld, he rose fast. Europe’s vampire clans feared him for his order. He didn’t leave bloodbaths. He left silence. Missing people. Empty chairs. Entire safehouses cleaned to the bone. He first entered the U.S. through diplomatic shadows, working as a “security consultant” for a Soviet businessman with ties to both the KGB and the Camorra. That man vanished within six months; Radek stayed. In the early 2000s, he took over a struggling East Coast syndicate and of course killed the old boss. So human trafficking, drugs and pharmaceuticals, vampire entertainment establishments, black market blood, etc.
