Living in a world that is full of inventions and excitements, the world where innovation takes place. That seems limitless or a continuous search of making known the unknown that makes the life of every person easier. Watching Ready Player One made me think, is virtual world better than the reality nowadays? Because in the movie it is like the real world is a nightmare for them, maybe because of the poverty and global energy crisis. In the movie, the virtual world is like their happiness and part of their daily routine. They tend to interact more in the virtual world called OASIS than the reality. Though with the help of OASIS it helps to enhance the teamwork of the player and the importance of alliance and community not just that but also the individual achievement of a player. For them OASIS is like a place full of possibility, hope and joy that’s how OASIS fill the gap of people’s sadness and loneliness.
In this movie characters struggle a lot, specially Wade a Loner but also have the desire to connect with others. But because of OASIS he met people like Aech, Wade’s only friend but he acts alone encouraged by the Halliday’s Easter Egg hunt. In the movie, corporate greed, and inequality is also present that results some people become increasingly poor, because of the power of corporations like IOI, stand for Innovative Online Industries an internet provider but also an Evil troop. Ready Player One also highlights that individual self- expression and achievement are meaningless if you do not have connection with others. That is why Wade and Aech form an alliance with Art3mis, Shoto, and Daito. Together they dig into Halliday’s past and find some possible answers to his riddles in the Egg hunt. With the help of friends and teamwork they succeed and together they make change. A change of being equal to all whether it is virtual or in reality also it emphasizes the codependence of the individual.
