Angelina Jolie is known for being an Oscar-winning actress and starring in films such as, Girl Interrupted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Maleficent. Angelina Jolie is a humanitarian who speaks up about issues. If you look into her personality type. Many people think she’s an ESTP (Extraverted, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving) or the complete opposite, INFJ (Inverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging) I however see her as an ESFP (Extraverted, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving) due to her old rebellious impulsive phase when she was younger, which fits her being ESTP or ESFP theory, but, her being an humanitarian shows her strong morals and empathy, which wouldn’t make sense for an ESTP, but would for an ESFP. At the governor awards she gave a speech regarding women’s rights, in which she said “And why across the world there's a woman just like me, with the same abilities and the same desires, the same work ethic and love for her family, who would most likely make better films and better speeches, only she sits in a refugee camp and she has no voice.” Jolie was referring to many refugee camps in countries like Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. Women have no voice, no idea when they will get their next meal, and are worried about their children. Right now, there’s women in Afghanistan who are forced to be fully covered in a burqa and can’t leave without their husband. This is unjustified, we should speak up just as Angelina Jolie did, and use our voice to raise awareness for women suffering across the world. Jolie’s speech, her speaking up and also taking action to help those who are less fortunate show her strong empathy and extraverted sensing, which is why I believe she is truly an ESFP, who matured from her impulsive rebellious self. She is very good with people and has adopted some kids while doing humanitarian work, such as her oldest child, Maddox, who was adopted from Cambodia, which shows her personality type leaning even more towards an ESFP. Angelina Jolies uses her action oriented approach, strong empathy and extroverted nature to help with her humanitarian work. Regardless of our MBTI and personality we should all have empathy and raise awareness for those women in Afghanistan.
