For a long while Iβve been trying to put my finger on what happened to the self respect, pride, dignity, and morals of our young black woman. When and where did they loose themselves??? Me and my collective are always having this discussion. After watching @therealmaryjblige My Life documentary it hit me like a ton of bricks. Whatβs missing is They donβt have a Mary J. Blige!!! Thatβs the one of missing components. They donβt have a REAL woman of color who truly looks like them, that is truly talented, whoβs okay to speak on her belief in God, and has the willingness and courage to put her pain and healing on display through her art. Name oneβ¦Iβll wait!! π€Instead they have women that have made it acceptable and okay for our black women to be exploited as sexual objects and possessions. Whoβs constantly Displaying unattainable and unrealistic body images. Making it normal to set their self respect, dignity, morals, and values aside for instant fame and fortune. Meanwhile, accepting toxicity in their lives. Thank you MJB for voice, your courage, authenticity, and giving us an identity. The younger generations are missing the 90βs era!!!
