Instead of doing this whole “like for a starter” ordeal, I’d like you to like this post if you’d want to plan something longer. Hopefully it’ll get me motivated to make some more active threads on Shiranui here.

The darkness that lay through the city streets sent Shiranui’s body a-shiver. He knew not why, but the scent of danger lurked beyond every corner, and change brought him a deep sense of foreboding deep within the sun god’s breast, leaving him alert, leaving him nose first and ears high and posture crouched as if he was ready to pounce. The stillness of the night served as greater eeriness than if a thousand demons ran about, ready to tear him apart, limb-from-limb.

Shiranui knew all too well of what the thirty-first of October would have signified. For Nippon, it would be known as the Obon Festival, and took place earlier in the year, as lanterns were lit and mortals anticipated the arrival of the dead. In this case, though, its date was clearly shifted, as Shiranui felt, in his bones, the compulsive need to keep his eyes out for the spirits of the long-departed deep within the soils of the city. Not only that, but he had noticed a change within the mortals he did spot; a lady he passed by wearing cat ears began to meow, and while Shiranui was not entirely familiar with mortals, he knew enough about them and their culture to recognize that openly making noises like that was more than a little strange. It didn’t help that many of them wanted to shove him into costume, which was why he was seeking refuge in an alleyway within the shopping district in the first place.

Something about this man made Shiranui feel...a little unsettled. Not vastly, mind. Not enough to tip him off about anything; plus, the sun god was one to give mortals a fair chance. But something about his expression troubled him.

Interesting. This man... He reminded him of some of the fishermen he’d encountered during his walking along the mortal’s land. To him, that indicated far from a foe; most of the seadwellers tended to be closest to the gods, after all, as they knew of the awesome power of the unknown.

Perhaps he could swindle some food from him. After all, Shiranui had not eaten in a day.

Oh, look at that – perfect timing, catching Sakuya right as she had exited a pet store to pick up some treats for her dog.

With a smile directed at the deity whom she happened to be familiar with, the maid expertly tossed a bone-shaped treat from a brown paper bag over to Shiranui. Perhaps he’d do a trick for her?

There it was, Sakuya turning to smile at him and he wagged his tail in response -- and then she let loose a bone treat, which Shiranui didn’t hesitate in snatching, jaws snapping around it as he caught it. He let out a happy whine as he sat down to nibble on it, and at his feet flowers sprouted around him in order to demonstrate that happiness.

        【★】”I mean, if Shrek is no good, I suggested High School Musical like five times.”

Okay, this woman had something tasty on her. Shiranui could practically smell it.

      【★】”Okay, hear me out; what if Hive City put on a performance of…. Shrek The Musical. Just think about it.”

What a hairy man. Shiranui sniffed him, then let out a wolfish confused noise and tilted his head to the side.
