The best month of year is fast approaching! I spent one long day doing all of these spreads at once because I put off doing this month for way too long. Iâm exhausted but very proud of the result.

Hello, how are you all doing?
This week I went to do something in my school and I took the opportunity to go to a library I had been wanting to go for a while. In the first photo there are two of the books that I bought there.
Today I:
Redid some Superior algebra notes.
Read 10 poems from The complete poems of Emily Dickinson.
Read a few pages from El cantar de RoldĂĄn.
Did a Superior algebra text.
Worked on my homework for my Science and society class.
How to Really Comprehend a Scientific Paper
**credit to my research advisor, sheâs an amazing mentor and I aspire to be just like her someday :)
Read the abstract. Write down what the paper says it is going to be about.
Read the introduction. Write down what the paper says it is looking to accomplish and how.
Read the conclusion. Write down what the paper actually did accomplish.
Go through and find all the pictures, graphs, or diagrams. Write notes explaining these images to yourself.
Read the whole paper start to finish. Write a summary of the paper as though you are explaining it to a layperson, and then another summary as though you are explaining it to a colleague.
Throughout all of the above steps:
If there are words you donât know google them and write down the definitions
If the paper defines a formula, law, variable, etc in a certain way write that down
If there are references to or recommendations of other literature write those down. After the last step if thereâs anything youâre uncertain about or would like more information on look to that list for further reading

Just realized that doodling helps me a lot to concentrate. Besides, it makes my notes look great. This drawing is copied from one of Alphonse de Neuville's illustrations for Twenty thousand leagues under the sea.
Today I:
Wrote a lab report (My first one in college! Here's to hoping it goes well!)
Did a Physics exam.
Read a few chapters from my current book (A memory called empire by Arkady Martine).
âš my Notion template âš
hey guys! i made a template for notion and i thought i'd share it on here too
feel free to use it <3<3<3 the link is here

So you have to write a research paper. Welcome to the basis for grading in many humanities courses. The nice thing is that usually you will have a decent amount of time to do this. The not-so-nice thing is that grading is (in my experience) enormously subjective. Since every professor will likely have a different scale for grading, the best you can do is prepare a solid paper and trust that your work will speak for itself. Here are some ideas for getting started (plus a quick guide to note-taking and essay writing):
prompts: Were you given a prompt for this research paper? If so, youâre in luck. If not, donât worryâyouâre going to create your own. Letâs assume youâve been given a prompt, or possibly several prompts to choose from. Read them over, highlighting or underlining key words. Then, choose the one that either you want to answer, or that you feel capable of answering. Sometimes this is a choice between writing a paper that bores you but covers materials you know well (if, for example, youâre overworked and donât have a lot of time), or writing a paper youâre sincerely interested in but would have to do a lot more prep work for. Also, the prompt should tell you details such as number of sources required, page-length, formatting, citation style, etc., so be sure to mark those. Why start here? Well, you wonât get very far in gathering sources if you donât have a prompt.
key words: But wait, how do you know which words are key in a prompt? OK, so letâs say youâre writing for an English class; probably there will be themes, characters, certain quotations mentioned in the prompt. Or for a history class, there will probably be a time period, political slant, policy question, etc. Look for imperatives such as, âexplain,â âexamine,â âaddress,â âevaluate,â and the like. The prompts, if they are written well, will offer you a lot of info for formulating your thesis. There may also be a direct question in the prompt. If so, make sure you answer it!Â
make your own: Sometimes youâll be told, âWrite me a paper,â and set loose. I know a lot of my students find this incredibly frustrating so I donât do it to them; that said, some professors still will. So what you have to do then is, in a way, be your own professor. What have you studied this semester that you want to know more about? What have you read that you found really interesting? Perhaps there is a certain character you really dislike who somehow gets a good ending in the plot of a novelâwhy might that be? Perhaps thereâs a regime change that had a lot of interesting things going on in the background, which your class didnât have time to focus onâlook into it more. Basically, the prompt-less essay should inspire freedom, not panic. You get to write about whatever you want! The difficulty comes in making sure you still have a well-structured paper, so read on.Â

25th August - Imagine that you could fill a swimming pool with anything except water and swim in it. What would your pool be filled with?
Oh, what a fun question! I think I would fill it with hydrogel balls.
24th August - What three things would you take to your desert island?
The boring answer would probably be something like a knife, a tent and a water purifier. The fun answer, however, would be the biggest book on my TBR (That one I keep meaning to read and never get around to reading), an equally huge notebook and some way to play music.

First day back at home. I decided to take the day to chill, cause I was exausted. In the afternoon I went for a walk, and catched up with a friend, who got me this book. I also watched a movie with my mom.
Summer studying challenge // 15th August - What is your favourite ice cream flavour?
Honestly it depends on my mood. There's a ice cream place that has this amazong homemade biscuit flavour, and that is defenetly in my top favourites.

Hi, everyone, How have you been? I started uni today and I'm really excited but a bit scared of how heavy the workload seems to be and how difficult some subjects may be.
23rd August - Have you ever been badly sunburnt?
Yes, one time I went to an aquatic park in the middle of the summer! I think the sunburn itself wasn't really that bad but I have very little experience with that so it felt like a lot.

04.08.2021 // i passed my oral exam for pchem and is was so nerve wracking. but its over and now i have the time to reread Outlander, lay on my bed staring into the void and ask myself where the summer has gone.
3rd August - What is your least favourite thing about the beach?
The sand! It gets everywhere and walking through it when it's hot is a really bad experience (I say, as someone that didn't know how hot the sand could get when I first went to the beach, so it came as a big surprise to me).
