now I want to watch a lesbian slice of life grounded rom com interrupted about halfway through by a Kaiju attack and they have to navigate both slice of life lesbianism problems and giant fire breathing lizard problems at the same time
coming back to this, none of the trailers show any kaiju shenanigans, the kaiju is completely unknown before its attack, and while it is foreshadowed in things like background news reports about ships going missing and tsunamis and stuff like that, there's no overt indications that anything is up until the kaiju arrives. our lesbians don't directly solve the kaiju attack plotline but the monster arrives when they're outed and leaves when they decide to be together in spite of the difficulty so the arcs mirror eachother. this movie is primarily about the lesbians with the kaiju stuff happening to heighten the drama of their relationship struggles, it doesn't turn into a kaiju movie just because the kaiju shows up
