Why is baby mama culture so glorified in Black American communities?
Rihanna is a billionaire so ofc her offspring will be financially stable regardless
But a lot of young women don’t realize that the projected outcomes for children of single and young Black mothers in this country are statistically quite dire. Even polygamists in traditional cultures marry their multiple wives because it’s a consolidation of power (still not the economically wise decision if you ask me bc then everyone is fighting over inheritance but I digress)
Marriage holds weight. It is not just a piece of paper and when you decide to reproduce with a man who has no intentions of marrying you then you are deliberately choosing to alter your life in a way that isn’t likely to be positive.
Truth be told, the lives of celebrities don’t matter to me because they are immune to the real consequences of the actions they advertise as normal.
It’s sick and I pray that young Black people wake up.
