I don't really use this platform a whole lot, but I do occasionally use it to scroll a bit when I'm bored and post my art and Minecraft builds.

There's not really any consistency in what I post cause I always have trouble with starting projects, but whenever I do manage to start and finish something it'll be a cool Minecraft build or some silly art I made.

Kinda took it easy from building in January, and now I wanna slowly get back into it again so I made these little biome builds

Weekly one chunk biome 4/4 REMADE!

My final build of the year

This is probably the one biome from this project I liked the least and had the most regrets for

I feel like I had kind of a cool concept, but the execution was just not good

For the remake I got rid of a lot of stuff, like the prismarine, concrete powder, mangrove logs and granite because there were just wayy too many different blocks, prismarine just doesn't work for terrain lol

I'm not 100% happy with the remake because it was just a really hard one to get right, but it definitely feels a lot nicer to look at

It's done...

For 51 weeks straight I've been trying to come up with weird and unique ways to make interesting looking terrain within a small 16x16 area, so for the final one I wanted to do something basic

I've had the idea of making this as the final biome ever since June. Most finales of certain media always make it some big thing where everything comes together in the end, but I wanted to go with something basic and peaceful as a sort of way of putting my mind to rest after coming up with so many cool and unique biomes. After so long of trying to avoid making something "basic", it just felt right to end this way :)

That's all I'm gonna say about this biome

This was such a silly project to work on, like it isn't really impressive per se since it's just a 16x16 build each week that takes like an hour max, but it's really meant a lot to me and I'm so glad I did it, and I'm proud of myself for pulling through even if it seemed rough in the beginning

Anyways I have a shit ton I wanna say about this project, but this post would become wayyyy too long so I'll end it here

Weekly one chunk biome 3/4 REMADE!

This is actually one of the older ones that I still quite liked, I don't know what I was cooking with that texturing tho that might genuinely be the worst texuring I've ever done lol

For this one I don't really have a lot to say honestly, I mostly just made it a bit cleaner and added some plantage for color and variation, and that's about it The shaping stayed basically the same because it was already pretty good I think.

Weekly one chunk biome 51/52

The second to last one...

I was really hoping that before the end of the year I could still use some of the new Pale Garden blocks, and thankfully the update still came out in time for me to use some :D

I've actually kinda had the idea for this one in mind since over a month ago I wanted to have one last snowy/cold biome in the final few, and I wanted it to have a bit more of a depressing theme, so the Pale Garden blocks were just perfect for what I wanted

I like how the colors work together here, altho since they're not very colorful blocks I don't feel like it stands out that well I think it works in this case tho since the biome is supposed to like kinda dead with the theming

The 1.21.4 blocks are PotatoLucy approved (except for resin bricks what are those)

Weekly one chunk biome 2 REMADE!

This one is interesting

I wasn't really sure how to tackle this one since the terrain shaping is a lil weird

It has some of the randomness/messiness like the first one (Frozen Iron Veins) and it was hard to make sense of the shape of the terrain, so instead of having one big lava pool in the middle I tried to add a more river like lava pool that seperates the nether wart parts so those parts feel more like their own bit of terrain and not one big mess

It was hard finding a block that mixed well with the nether wart blocks, but having the red nether bricks works well I think

Also most of my most important mods got updated to 1.21.4 yesterday, so I was able to use a lil bit of resin clumps on the bricks and I love it so much, really awesome block (except for the resin bricks itself lol)

Lastly, I added the yellow corals on the nether wart because I wanted some more yellow details to fit with the golden theme. I didn't really like it at first, but the more I placed the more it kinda looked like those modded nether biomes with the huge variety in colorful plants and fungi, and I really love that about it since this is meant to be a nether biome

Weekly one chunk biome 50/52

We hit the big number 50 huh

I honestly didn't try super hard with this one cause I had a long day with terrible sleep, and I almost considered moving this build to tomorrow even tho I've been consistently making on Mondays since the halfway part and I didn't have much inspiration, but I still tried and it turned out really good actually

I haven't used sand all that much even tho it's a really good building block, so I figured I'd use it again for one last time

It's just a simple little desert biome with some gray blocks to divide and add color to the terrain, and a bit of cacti and grass for plantage

Solid addition to the final four I think :)

Weekly one chunk biome 1 REMADE!

So it's the final month of my little weekly one chunk biome project, and I feel like I've improved a lot with my builds, so to showcase some of that improvement I thought it'd be fun to try and revisit and remake the first four builds I made for this project every week! These builds are seperate from the project itself

The first one was Frozen Iron Veins, and this one turned out to be an even bigger difference than I expected.

It was the first build I made for this project, so I didn't really know what I was doing with my terrain building, and I can very clearly see that now when I look at the messy texturing of the floor, and the placements of the ice were really messy as well. The inconsistency of the snow layers on the ground don't make any sense either. Everything was just messy lol.

So I tried to fix all that... and I think it went really well actually

The shaping of the terrain in the new one is much nicer and smoother with the way I like to use slabs nowadays, and the texturing of the calcite and snow isn't just literally randomized with a trowel mod anymore. I stopped using that tool a couple months ago with Scorched Path, and ever since then I've noticed a big improvement in my builds actually lol

I made the iron veins a bit bigger than I first expected, but I quite like how much bigger they look here. Especially the ice surrounding it is a lot better since I tried to place it a bit more like they're spiked away from the veins, if that makes any sense.

Lastly, the plantage just gives the build a lot more life, which it desperately needed since it looked quite dull imo.

Overall I think this was a really great improvement, I'm really happy to see how much I've learned throughout this year cause that was exactly what I was hoping when I started this project.

Weekly one chunk biome 49/52

We have entered the final month of the year and this project.

Because of this, I wanna do something a little extra to showcase how much I've grown with these builds throughout the year, but I won't show or talk about that little extra until a couple days later so we can now focus on this week's build :P

This week I wanted to go with a darker, messed up theme, using sculk in some way.

It didn't end up being dark in the way I wanted cause I just couldn't really figure out, but I really like how this ended up actually.

The crimson plant and red coral add a nice little bit of color, and the dragon egg is weird, but the way the magenta pixels light up a bit with the shaders makes it look a bit like a mushroom and I really like that.

Also I was playing around with what biome colors would have a fitting atmosphere for this biome, and at first I wanted to try and use end biomes since I was going with a darker theme, but it was actually quite disappointing But then I tried out some nether biomes, and the particles from the basalt delta look so good here. I love what that adds to this biome.

The only thing I don't like about it is the water color, but unfortunately that's just what I have to deal with if I wanna keep the basalt delta particles.

Overall I'm very happy with this one, good start to the final four :)

Weekly one chunk biome 48/52

I really like this one, but it might be a bit too chaotic? I'm really not sure

This uses another two blocks (clay and cherry leaves) I've used before, but wasn't fully satisfied with the way I used those blocks, and somehow I feel like they actually work really well together with the gilded theme

I've wanted a "gilded" theme since the start, and I actually tried doing that in the beginning with the second biome (Golden Hell), but it didn't really end up looking the way I had in mind back then, so i'm happy I came back to the theme and did it a lot more justice.

Weekly one chunk biome 47/52

So I tried to make one of the worst blocks in the game work

I keep switching between really liking this build and not liking this because of the raw copper, i have genuinely no idea what to think of this

I think everything else looks pretty nice tho

Also I used the Os' Colorful Grasses texture pack mixed with VanillaTweaks' different savannah colors for the short/long grass and they look so good like this, I highly recommend them :D

Oh yeah there's also podzol under there, which is actually a really nice block that I need to use more often, but it's kinda hard to see under the grass and sugar cane lol
