Maybe we should do this more often
Characters: Carl, Rick and Michonne
Ps. MY BABIES I LOVE THEM. Set in between s4 and s5 after the prison but before they reached Sanctuary. #Rick and Michonne having slight feelings but no one addresses them. Super fluffy and cute ENJOY!
Rick’s eyes opened as he woke up from his nap in the middle the day, not even remembering how he fell asleep. As he stood up from the bed and tried to focus on his surroundings he heard a faint noise coming from the downstairs.
Laughter. So painfully familiar but long forgotten. It was Carl’s.
As Rick recognised his son’s voice he couldn’t help but smile a bit as he made his way down to the first floor. Not seeing Michonne and Carl at first he turned around the corner just to find a tangle of limbs flying around on the floor of the living room, trying to get the upper hand. Not surprising who was winning.
“Da—hAhahha DAhahAD hEHelp!” Carl’s cheeks flushed with a pink tint as he didn’t expect to see his father in the doorway looking at him with this fondness he hadn’t seen him even look at Judith, but he hoped that he would at least give him a hand.
Carl looked at Rick with twinkling blue eyes, hair even more messy, sheriff hat somewhere lost on the floor. Rick wishes more than ever that he could take a picture of this moment. Couldn’t remember last time he saw him laugh like that, couldn’t remember last time he felt himself smiling as wide.
Michonne got her hands scribbling all around Carl’s torso eliciting high pitched giggles and boyish laughter from the boy. She looked up to Rick with a grin of her own and let the boy go after a few more moments. Carl lied there trying to catch his breath for a minute, curled up on the carpet on the floor. He could feel himself get even more red as he looked up and saw both adults giving him the warmest smiles.
“Stohop lohookihing” Carls said as he sat up, putting his hat on to hide his red face.
“He insulted my shirt, said I look like a grandma” Michonne explained as she stood next to Rick, “so I had to teach him a lesson” she winked at Carl as she said it.
“You know..” she continued as she looked at the man next to her, “I’m wondering if he got his sensitivity from his father” she tried reaching out to grab Rick’s side but he jerked out of the way, smile on his face just proving her right.
She decide not to push on it that day, going into the kitchen to continue eating her dry cereal.
Some kind of giddiness in the air prevailed.
Wine was found in one of the houses leading to Michonne and Rick deciding that it’s never too late to enjoy each other’s company with a drink. Even in this world.
Carl found some canned pasta and crackers so the night was going to be memorable.
After the time hit 12:30 Carl said his goodnights and went to the room upstairs to read some of the comics he found in the house, leaving the two alone.
“Cmon give me more” Michonne said as she reached for the second bottle of wine they have just opened. They have positioned themselves on the floor of the living room, surrounded by food they have found.
“No way” Rick grabbed it right before she got her hands on it. Putting it over her head knowing that she can’t reach it from where she was sitting.
“Grimes” She made the most serious face she could do trying to intimidate the man which only resulted in him chuckling at her expression.
As she analysed his body she grinned and saw the exposed torso that was just perfect for finding out if Rick is as bad as Carl.
Without any heads up dug her hand into his armpit, leading to Rick shooting his arm down and doubling over with snickers.
“Michohohne!” Woman smiled at the mention of her name before grabbing the bottle out of his grasp and putting it far enough so they won’t knock it over.
“Yes that’s my name”. She turned around and flashed him a smile before cracking her knuckles and tackling him down, not giving him a chance to escape.
She got positioned on his hips, being able to get one of his arms under her knees, as another one was covering half of his face, either to muffle the sound or save him the embarrassment of looking all defenceless. He couldn’t decide.
He buckled under her trying to throw her off as he spidered her fingers over his stomach and squeezed his sides.
“StoHOHOP!” He ducked his head as loud laughter poured out of his lips and already red from alcohol face became even redder. His free hand now leaving his face and trying to swat away the attacking fingers.
Michonne’s laughter mixing with his, she never saw him like this. Yeah she saw Rick occasionally flash a smile or even chuckle but not like this.
Maybe it was the drink, or maybe she just liked seeing him this way. Michonne felt a small flush washing over her face as she caught herself staring at man’s face for too long, wanting to hear his laughter just a little bit more.
“Just adorable” She chuckled looking at the man underneath her making him squeeze his eyes shut so he wouldn’t have to look at her.
Footsteps from upstairs made their way down to the first floor, Carl standing there with a grin on his own.
“Can you be quieter? I can’t read with all this noise” He looked down at his dad squirming on the floor from the doorway he was standing in and shook his head giggling.
He was in a position that his dad was when he found him just a few days ago.
“Okay, okay” Michonne rolled her eyes fondly, “But don’t try me again” she got off of Rick and took a sip from the bottle.
The man caught his breath and covered his face with now free hands as to muffle the dying laughter still escaping from him.
“Goho– hmph. Go to bed Carl” Rick sat up, trying to neutralise his face, but a smile still tugged at his lips.
“We have to get her back somehow” Carl said, browsing through books in the living room of the house out of boredom.
Rick looked up from where he was sitting at the couch, a confused expression on his face.
“For tickling me and you.” Rick’s eyes widened at the mention of him. Now as he really sobered up, he hoped they would pretend she didn’t completely wreck him back a few days ago. To save him the embarrassment.
“What are you proposing?”
Boy went silent for a couple of seconds
“Just attack her when she least expects it”, he turned to face his dad and smiled.
Rick pondered a few seconds until both of them heard Michonne coming down the stairs to the first floor. Rick turned to Carl giving him a nod as he stood up from the couch.
“Okay so about the run— AH! Michonne barely got a few words out as she felt two strong arms wrapping her in a bear hug and taking few steps to throw her on the couch.
“Whahat the hell?” She laughed at the stupidity of what just happened.
Rick just smirked, climbing onto the couch himself to get over her and make sure she won’t get herself out of this one.
“You know, just revenge” Carl grinned from where he was standing, curious how it will unfold.
Her eyes darted between father and son as the realisation washed over her, nervous smile tugging at her lips and she started fighting Rick off harder, eager to get some of her limbs free to kick him off a couch.
Rick smiled at her wolfishly as they made eye contact, but felt his face getting a little warm, realising that he has never touched her before that was more that just a squeeze on the shoulder or a hug. But revenge is revenge.
He dig his fingers into her sides, making Michonne jerk under him, panicked laughter coming out of her as her hands tried to push Rick off, unsuccessfully.
“Yes, that’s my name” he chuckled as he shot her own line back at her.
“Get her under the arms!” Carl said excitedly, happy to see Michonne being brought down by his dad.
“NoHOHo! She threw her head back as raspy giggles made their way out, squirming even more under him, her face getting pinker with a blush.
Rick grinned at the picture of strong and deadly woman being completely helpless and cute under him. Her actual laugh was a new sound to him, something so sweet and charming. He could swear her smile blinded him for a second, he just wishes to see it more often. Maybe they should do this more often.
He slowed down his fingers after a few minutes, all of them breathing heavily with prominent smiles on their faces.
Yeah, this wasn’t too bad.
