“God, can you believe how much we’ve grown up?”

Hugo snorts and takes a long drink of his beer. “Seriously. Remember that awful song I sent you when I was like, fourteen? Shit, dude just how-,”

“Shut up,” Porter cackles. “I’m having war flashbacks to my teenage haircut. Fucking terrible.” He pauses to take a shot and Hugo leans back on the couch, stares up at the ceiling of Porter’s hotel room.

“I missed you.”

With all the ambient noise in the airport Porter’s voice is so quiet Hugo almost doesn’t catch it at first, has to blink slowly at him before he smiles and runs a hand down Porter’s shoulder. “I missed you too,” he says, lets his fingers drag along the knit of Porter’s sweater. Brushes his knuckles against the back of Porter’s hand as subtly as he can in such a public place.

Porter ducks his head and he’s gone pink in the cheeks and he mumbles something Hugo actually doesn’t catch this time. He presses his palm into the small of Porter’s back until Porter looks back up at him and Hugo’s breath hitches. Porter’s biting his lip appealingly, eyes dark and face flushed.

“I really want to kiss you.” Hugo lip-reads the words more than actually hears them but it’s enough. There’s a warmth in the pit of his stomach that he feels spreading, feels the heat rising in his cheeks and ears.

“I want to kiss you too,” he murmurs, pressing his hand a bit more firmly into Porter’s back. “But when we get to my house?”

Porter nods slowly. He looks tired, sort of dazed. It’s a long flight; Hugo understands. Porter’s never been able to sleep on planes.

“Come on, let’s get out of here,” Hugo says, urging Porter toward the exit.
