Porterville Police Department shot and within 60-80 minutes died on the way to Sierra View Medical Center. Little time to be flown out to Fresno for proper care. Morale, deceased suspect, dies after Police Department and Kern Swat team run him over intentionally.
Schools within the area were on lockdown as this started 10:40am for an eviction notice, police asked to leave civilly, asking for any family to coax him out of his home. Gavin Newsom is debriefed on the situation and Fresno Mayor makes a statement.

I'm so tired of "Heritage". It's Shamrock this and history of racist flag 4547 or something (oops those numbers came up their own)
Why can't we have an event that celebrates Native Americans in our population or Hispanic Americans that wonderfully support our towns growth. How come we aren't talking about more of their culture and sharing in festivities unless its a backyard barbecue, vendor food where we're unhappy smaller towns came unauthorized to support (to some permit measures understandably), and their beer. We barely welcome their music but I think we should plan something that honors their labors, their contribution to our American towns too, as they are patriotic. We need to celebrate them in a time when their families are threatened. This is cosmetic and blanket support rather than fixing underlying issues in our community, but I'd like to have something to uplift my family and my neighbors.
We deserve more events that celebrate Filipino American culture and history too. My education growing up taught me so little that it's embarrassing. I had to learn from my fellow classmates, my family who some are biracial too, and neighbors. We need to uplift every way of life, because it's life and there's so many ways to express its beauty and come together when its difficult.
Porterville, California Fire Department. That font, though. πΈ:me/2015

I doubt this may reach many, but I've seen local protests for ICE in Veteran's park across from Monache. Posters of pro-immigration bible quotes put up by local progressive churches (that I borrowed the name from Instagram for wider outreach across platforms, they're more moderate left. Though Ed McScurvy deems them Far Left anyway??)
Anyway, point of post is to bring attention to ICE sightings in Tulare county. They're closing in my town like I knew they would with time. Porterville High was noted to have ICE around. Stay safe, document, and report everything you see, and love thy neighbors.
I noted, too, PCAN is more or less on the record of ICE "following the rules" to do their job as if it isn't the same Border Patrol its been since roughly the seventies...
So, I'll extend their movement into the void and say Fuck Ice. Abolish It.
I struggle to find a sliver of optimism in my town amongst the several police sirens, drunk accidents, and sprouting of fires lately. There is some comfort in knowing that anyone that shows up to a city hall meeting tend to lean liberal and civically engage. It provides me with hope and eagerness to research more about pressing issues. π§‘
February 3, 2026 at 6:30 there was a town hall meeting with several members of the community with their eyes on our mayor, vice mayor, and three councilman on whether or not to incarcerate homeless people under the guise of "compassion".
Ed McKervey impulsively motioned to allocate funds towards religious organizations aimed to aid homelessness to pacify his citizens but riled his colleagues. The rest of council wearily ask for him to not disclose to much behind the scenes funds and planning without thinking about the cost and weighed outcomes, namely. This was suggested by Raymond Beltran, as he tends to carefully consider the weighing elements of our community's decisions and play mediation between citizens and leadership.
Beltran often criticizes leadership as it proves to be distrustful at times with how they present topics to our community, mishandle water irrigation deals, and defend his values even when he's outnumbered 4-1.
Hopefully we can hold faith in fruitful results in a committee that cannot settle on agreement without bickering for three hours and two month standing with Porterville Irrigation.
I hope to update this with more developments as I support the liberties of my town!
The next hearing is February 17, 2026.
