Proud to be exploring my own darkness, fears and emotional patterns during my first day within this therapeutic @actiononaddiction 'family residential retreat'. This retreat is available for any family, partner or friend who has endured a loved ones journey with addiction or mental health. Exploring how others behaviours impacts us. The intimacy and attachments amongst my group already is offering metamorphism and hope within me. Instantaneously our vulnerabilities and commonalities being shared together. The emotions and sadness that erupted today took my breath away. Feeling safe amongst a group and a service allows for insight to take place. Which in turn constantly opens my mind to healthy relationships both within me and outside of me. Awareness of anything is the first step to changes. All too often it's those suffering with addiction that are placed under pressure and scrutiny to change but actually our perception of ourselves is the only thing we have control to change. Our view of ourselves and our world through boundaries, self concept and unconditional love. Today was day one of this retreat and although happiness looks different to each of us it is inner happiness that we need to place focus on. I have a deep and unconditional love and sense of bereavement for a certain person I hold dear to my thoughts constantly at the moment.
