Barry gets uptight around his sisters and does a bad thing at a Birthday party. Great movie.
January 23rd. Movie Pop of the Day. Punch Drunk Love (dir. Paul Thomas Anderson, streaming on Netflix currently). This it not the finest film from Paul Thomas Anderson but it show his ability to make single-character driven dramas that has dominated the later half of his career as opposed to the ensemble features he made in the first half. Adam Sandler has never acted better and likely never will. He perfectly captures the rage and turmoil of a man who has been abused and taken advantage of by his family, friends, and society for years. We can call relate to Barry in some ways and thus his anger management, while objectively a negative trait, comes off as sympathetic and enhances our attachment to the character as he progresses throughout the story.
