These Blueberry Cherry Baked Donuts are a delightful combination of two delicious fruits, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat. They are baked, not fried, making them a healthier option for indulging in your donut cravings.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 large egg. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup fresh blueberries. 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries and chopped cherries. Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the donuts from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Optional: You can make a simple glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a little water or milk until you achieve your desired consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled donuts. Serve and enjoy your homemade Blueberry Cherry Baked Donuts!
