Chapter Two
“Ugh… My head…” Rainbow Dash let out a pained groan, struggling to open her eyes. She squinted a bit, attempting to take in her surroundings. It was proving difficult though; the room was engulfing her in complete darkness. She attempted to move after fully coming to, quickly glancing around. “What..? Why can’t I move?” Her wings flapped rapidly in an attempt to break free. The pegasus then paused, her mind racing. “Pinkie Pie!” She shouted.
Just then, a couple of fluorescent lights above Rainbow flickered on with a low hum. “Good morning, Dashie!” Pinkie Pie giggled. “Well, it isn’t really morning. You’ve only been asleep for a couple of hours. But you know what I mean! At least, you should! You always love my jokes!” She hopped over, sporting a huge grin. “I’m surprised it took you this long to wake up!”
“Let me go!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. “What is with you?! You’re not Pinkie!” She squirmed a bit, finally taking a moment to look at all four of her legs. They were all strapped down tightly with leather restraints. It would take a pony a lot stronger than Rainbow Dash to tear through, and she knew it too.
“What do you mean, Dashie? Of course I’m Pinkie! If I wasn’t Pinkie, who else would I be?” Pinkie Pie asked with a giggle. The pink pony now wore a bright, multicolored apron. It had multiple stains within it; only Celestia knew what they could have been. “You must be a bit thrown off. I mean, no-pony really knows the full extent of my job!” She chirped, taking a few steps back. She reached up, grabbing a chain that was hanging from the ceiling. Her hoof moved down, the chain making a click as more lights began to shine.
The scene before Rainbow Dash was quite gruesome. The damp walls surrounding her held several mounts with pony’s skulls hanging as trophies. Some of them were from missing ponies from Ponyville, but most of the others were from ponies Rainbow Dash had never seen before. It was likely that Pinkie Pie had taken ponies that weren’t thought of very often. Along with the mounts, a few tables with spoiled sweets and pastries were strewn about. The tables seemed to be made with bones; the cloths on top resembling pony hide. A large banner with entrails holding it hung from the ceiling, reading “LIFE’S A PARTY!”. It was written in some sort of reddish-brown substance. Something one could only assume was blood.
“...Pinkie?” Rainbow Dash’s eyes scanned the room. She gave an anxious smile, a hoarse laugh escaping from her chest. Although, she didn’t think this was funny. Not at all. “What… What the hell is all of this? Is this supposed to be some sort of joke?” She asked, turning her head to look at her friend. “Why do you have all of this?” She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She had never seen anything like this in her life, nor did she ever expect to. She had only ever heard of these sorts of murders in bigger cities around Equestria. She never expected something to happen around her. Let alone to her.
“My job isn’t a joke, Rainbow.” Pinkie Pie huffed at her. She didn’t seem to think that was very funny. “You know, I go around doing great things for ponies! I’m just continuing the family business. It takes a lot to do this kind of work!” She said, walking over to a small, wheeled cart nearby. She sat down beside the cart, slipping a pair of gloves onto her hooves. “This is a thing that the Pies have been doing for decades! And I can’t let you ruin it, silly! Even if I did let you go, you’d go and tell every-pony! And then I would be the one to sully the Pie name!”
“I… I don’t understand…” Rainbow said quietly. “Why… Why would any-pony do this?” She lifted her head, staring at Pinkie. “Why would YOU do this?!” She raised her voice. “This doesn’t make any sense!”
Pinkie Pie then scoffed a bit. “Well of course it wouldn’t make sense to you, you’re not a Pie!” She turned her head to look at Rainbow. “My family started doing this a loooong time ago! Long before we came along!” She started, moving to stand again. “Our towns were overpopulated, but no-pony was doing anything about it! And then we reached a famine and, well, we didn’t have any food! So we figured, why not just take ponies and eat them instead!” She beamed a bit. “We started taking ponies that didn’t really make an impact, ones that went unnoticed. I guess over time, we started getting sloppy! My father told me that I should have some sort of system. Drawing names or something. I guess your name ended up in it!” She shrugged. “Oh well! I have always wondered what a rainbow pony would taste like!” She giggled.
Rainbow Dash stared at Pinkie Pie as she explained her twisted history. “...Why can’t you just stop the chain?” She asked, her voice fear stricken. “And let me go! I won’t tell anyone, I swear!” She said in a panic. Her eyes were wide and her breath was fast. She really had no idea what to do or say.
“Oh, I can’t let you go! And I can’t “stop the chain”, I would be a traitor!” Pinkie said, letting out a small huff through her nose. “The family passes all of this down to one kid, which happened to be me! I guess pops thought I’d have the most ambition! Which, he was right. I don’t think my sisters could stomach the thought of this.” She chirped. “It’s okay though, I’ve come to terms with it! But I can’t have any word of this getting out. I’m sure you understand, Dashie! You’re my best friend, after all!” She beamed. “Maybe that’s what makes this so special!”
“Oh my Celestia…” Rainbow muttered, hanging her head. “I’m gonna be sick…” She quickly shook her head. “Come on, Rainbow. Wake up. This isn’t real, this can’t be real.” She began to ramble, her body shaking with fear. She just couldn’t believe what she was hearing, couldn’t imagine what other ponies had been through thanks to Pinkie Pie. Although, it was clear that she was about to find out.
“Oh, I can assure you that you aren’t dreaming, Dashie!” Pinkie Pie reached over, grabbing onto the cart as she wheeled it over to Rainbow’s restraints. “Besides, the pain you’re about to feel will prove it! But like I said, it just has to be done. I would have preferred it to be someone else, but you were so lucky to have your name drawn!” She chirped. “Actually, I think I’ve got all of our friends in there! How fun!”
Rainbow Dash stared at Pinkie Pie as she walked over, trying to think of some sort of solution to this. She finally glanced at the cart, her stomach dropping when she saw the contents. A medical tray lay on top of the cart, it being wrapped up in some sort of sterile wrap. On top of the wrap was a selection of surgical tools. A scalpel, forceps, a pair of scissors, and various other types of clamps. They were surprisingly clean given the atmosphere of the basement. “P…Pinkie… What are you gonna do to me? This isn’t funny, okay? Did I do something to make you mad? Are you mad that I was late?”
“Oh, no silly! I had this planned before you decided to show up late!” Pinkie let out a giggle. “I was actually thinking that you were about to spoil the whole thing. I mean, I thought you wouldn’t show up at all! Which would have made this whole endeavor WAY harder!” She moved and looked at all of her tools, tapping her chin. She then beamed, grabbing a scalpel. “As for what I’m doing, that should be pretty obvious. I’m gonna harvest you for food!” She turned to face Rainbow Dash once more. “Cupcakes, cookies, brownies, anything really!” She beamed. It seemed like nothing about this bothered her.
“Does… That mean we’ve all been…” Rainbow rested her head back on the table she was strapped to, feeling queasy. “We’ve all been eating ponies.” She said, not waiting for Pinkie Pie to finish her thought for her. “You’re disgusting.” She said, glaring at Pinkie Pie. “They’ll never forgive you when they find out.”
“Oh, well I’m not worried about that! We’ve been able to get away with it for this long, haven’t we?” Pinkie Pie grinned, scooting a bit closer to Rainbow Dash. “They’ll probably just think you ditched your responsibilities and booked it to another town!” She giggled, holding up the scalpel. “Or they’ll think all of your training got to you. I could easily stage a suicide!” She beamed.
“...I’m going to die here.” Rainbow muttered under her breath. She furrowed her eyebrows, watching Pinkie Pie intently. She squirmed a bit under the restraints, flapping her wings again quickly. “Let me go, Pinkie!”
“That didn’t work the first time, what makes you think it’s going to now?” Pinkie asked, looking up at Rainbow Dash with a deadpan expression. She moved and stood up, setting the scalpel down on the cart once more. “I thought you’d be more cooperative, Dash! But, since you’re not,” The mare walked over to a bucket of nails, grabbing a few with her mouth. At the same time, she took a hammer into one of her hooves. She trotted back over to her victim, pinning one of her wings down against the table. “Stay still!” She said, her speech being muffled from the nails. She held one of them up to Rainbow’s wing bone, slamming it in without much thought.
Rainbow’s eyes immediately went wide. She let out a scream, her back arching against the table. She had never felt pain like that before, especially in her wings. Her most prized part of herself. “P-Pinkie, stop!” She cried, watching as the other made her way to the other wing. She knew the begging wouldn’t stop a thing, but she was hoping that she could at least get her to think about it.
“No, I don’t think I will!” Pinkie Pie hummed. She moved and hammered another nail or two into Rainbow’s left wing, beaming at her work. “Perfect!” She said, taking a step back. “Oh, and you can make as much noise as you want! No-pony is going to hear you down here!” She chirped. She tossed the hammer to the side, moving to grab the scalpel once again. “Now that you’re all nailed down, I can start the rest of the fun! How does that sound, Dashie?”
Rainbow Dash looked down at Pinkie, tears streaking her cheeks. “Please, just let me go…” She said weakly. Though, she could tell that Pinkie Pie wasn’t listening to her. She knew that Pinkie wanted nothing more than to see her suffer. She could only watch and prepare herself as the pink pony took a step closer; her scalpel aimed directly at her flank.

Chapter One
It was a nice, sunny day in Cloudsdale, rays of sunshine peeking through a pair of pearly white curtains. A blue pegasus by the name of Rainbow Dash was just waking up from her deep slumber, having a late night the previous day with Wonderbolts practice. Training to become one was quite the task, and it usually took a lot out of her. The time was around noon, but she didn’t bother with setting any alarms. She never cared enough to do so. However, today was different. Today she actually had plans; plans with her close friend Pinkie Pie. The pony let out a long yawn, letting her limbs and wings stretch out across her big, fluffy bed. She then paused, her eyes shooting open.
“Crap! I’ve gotta meet with Pinkie!” Rainbow exclaimed. She flew out of bed in a rush, deciding to leave through her window rather than making the trip downstairs. “Man, she’s gonna kill me! I was supposed to meet with her, like…” She thought to herself for a moment, taking a moment to look up at the sky. “Like a few hours ago! I hope she’s not angry.”
Rainbow Dash crashed through multiple clouds as she raced to the town below. She had definitely been late to outings before with her friends, but never this late. She was certain her friend Pinkie Pie would be upset with her. She was the element of Loyalty for Celestia’s sake, she was supposed to be there for her friends! That’s what she kept telling herself, anyway. Rainbow always tended to be a bit difficult on herself when it came to these situations.
When the mare finally reached Ponyville, she came to a screeching halt in front of the local bakery, Sugar Cube Corner. She gazed up at the… Rather colorful building before giving a quick head shake. She galloped up to the doors, but before she could even raise a hoof to open them, they swung open seemingly on their own.
“Pinkie Pie! I’m so sorry I’m late, I totally slept in and–” Rainbow started to explain herself, but she was quickly cut off by the energetic pony before her.
“Oh Dashie, don’t even worry about it!” Pinkie Pie chirped, “I’ve been watching for you aaaaall morning!” She moved and grabbed Rainbow by the front leg, yanking her inside. “Besides, I know you’re late sometimes! I figured you slept in! You’re always busy with your Wonderbolts practice!”
“...Right,” Rainbow Dash squinted a bit. She did find it a tad suspicious that Pinkie wasn’t upset in the slightest. “So, what exactly did you say we were doing again? Not that I’ve got anywhere to be or anything.” She cleared her throat, her face flushing from embarrassment. She felt she had given the impression that she didn’t want to be there with her friend.
“Oh, right! We’re making cupcakes!” Pinkie beamed, nearly buzzing from excitement. “I know you’re not big on baking or anything, but that’s okay!” She zipped off, returning almost immediately with a cupcake in hoof. “That’s why I wanna start off with a tasting!” She moved and offered the cupcake to Rainbow Dash. It did look rather tasty, the base being made of a fluffy, chocolate cake. The glittery, pink icing on top made it hard to resist.
Rainbow Dash stared at the cupcake for a moment, her head cocking to the side. Her eyebrows then furrowed a bit, the pony taking a seat on the ground. “Wait, so, if we’re making cupcakes, why exactly do I need to taste one?” She asked. Although, she didn’t hesitate to take the cupcake into her own hoof. She turned it around, sniffing at the icing curiously.
“Well DUH, it’s to see how yours needs to turn out!” Pinkie Pie let out a small huff from her nose. “I figured I could make an example before you go and make your own!” She told her friend.
“You said we’d both be making them, right?” Rainbow asked, glancing up at Pinkie Pie. She started to notice something a bit off about the pink pony. She seemed… Anxious. It couldn’t have been obvious to many, but Rainbow had an easier time picking up on emotions her friends were portraying. “I mean, I trust the both of us to make good enough cupcakes together.”
Pinkie stood there for a moment, becoming rather still. She then flashed Rainbow Dash a big grin. “Well, that’s awfully sweet of you, Dash!” She chirped. She took a step closer, “But I really do think you should try the cupcake! Just in case, y’know?”
Rainbow hesitated for a moment before moving to stand up again, “I mean, not really? You’re being kinda weird, Pinkie. Is everything okay?” She asked, her expression showing concern. Rainbow Dash watched her friend, trying to read how she was feeling. As she watched, she caught a twitch in Pinkie’s eye. She had never really seen her act this way before; it was beginning to freak her out.
“You know, friends do a lot for each other, Dash! Is it such a crime that I wanna spend time with you? I thought making cupcakes could be a fun activity! Because friends hang out and do things together, even when they don’t like it!” Pinkie Pie gave Rainbow Dash another grin. Although, it was different from her normal, energetic grin. Something about it came off as sinister to Rainbow.
Rainbow Dash took a step back, a pang of fear washing over her. She never expected to be afraid of one of her closest friends, especially Pinkie Pie. She moved and finally set her cupcake down on a nearby counter. “Uh.. You know what, I really should get going,” She started. “I forgot that I have to meet with Twilight, and–”
Before the pony could finish her sentence, the cupcake in which she was previously holding was grabbed from the counter and shoved into her mouth. “It’s okay, Dash! I tried to do this the easy way, you know! But you just had to go and make things difficult! It’s not my fault that I had to resort to this!” Pinkie Pie chirped. “If you had just eaten the cupcake when I first gave it to you, I wouldn’t have to be forcing it down your throat!” She let out a giggle. “But we got everything figured out, didn’t we?”
Rainbow quickly moved back, choking a bit on the sweet that was just forced upon her. “Pinkie! What the hell is with you?!” She shouted, wiping at her mouth. “Why can’t you just take no for an answer?!” She huffed a bit, turning to leave the bakery. “Whatever, I’m out of here.” She muttered. The mare stopped before she could reach the door, however. She was suddenly feeling quite sick to her stomach, and her head felt as light as a feather. Before she could think of doing anything else, she fell over, the world around her slowly going black.
