Okay, I know the logical next horse is Gascon the Great out of his box, but today is July 4 and fireworks are like fire right? 🤣 Anyway, here is the MIB photos for the fabulous classic decorator model Just Like Fire from Breyerfest 2024! He is themed after the mythical bird the phoenix, and his prototype has some really awesome purple legs that didn’t quite make it to production! 🔥 Have a safe and happy holiday everyone!

Breyerfest 2024 had Special Releases as well as Limited Editions, and for LEs you can buy whichever ones you like from the Breyerfest store! And I liked a lot of them that year, LOL! As well as the adorable mule Alan A Days Work, I also really liked the look of the handsome Paso Fino Gascon the Great, another handsome jumper! Tomorrow I will show him freed from his box!

Athenian Lady, the Breyerfest 2024 celebration horse! The celebration horse is the model that comes along with your ticket (unless you get the stablemate ticket!), and this year featured a really cool horse! Fun fact, some of these models glow in the dark, randomly! Sadly mine does not! 🤣

Breyerfest 2024 featured a really sweet celebration horse who truly embodied the spirit of ‘against all odds,’ because she was abused and rescued from a field with a deceased companion! 😭 And then went on to be a champion western dressage horse! I loved watching the livestream for Breyerfest that year, because her owner and the host Kimber both started tearing up talking about her journey, and she just seems like a really sweet horse. 💖 More photos of Athenian Lady tomorrow!

Alan A Days Work, the jumping Appaloosa mule! I couldn’t fit all of his photos into yesterday’s post, because I wanted to show off all of his adorable spots! My only other mule is my childhood model Sunshine, if you can believe it! They need a photo day together!

Today we continue with Breyerfest 2024, and today is a 1/2 type post! The Limited Edition horses all come in beautiful boxes, and all of the backdrops reflect the Against All Odds theme by having lots of inspirational words on them! Upside; gorgeous! Downside; the photo limit is 10 photos, 🤣 So here is Alan A Days Work in his box, a beautiful spotty mule! I couldn’t resist!!

Pausing my Breyerfest 2024 posting to bring you some beary good news! This adorable black bear mama and cub are/were on sale on Amazon for $25, so even if you miss the prime day deal, I imagine they’ll go on sale again, probably closer to Black Friday. I love the Breyer animals and I’m really excited to see this year’s bear set! 🐻

Percy the Przewalski’s horse was the plush for Breyerfest 2024! I don’t usually get the plush, simply because I’m so overrun with plush already! If I add to the pile, it’s gotta be someone really worthwhile! And a little wild horse definitely makes the cut! 🎉 I love that you can tell he’s number 1719 on his lil hoof!

Breyerfest Stablemates! Every year since the onset of the online Breyerfest, Breyer has offered a special online-only traditional model and stablemate. For 2024, that was Blue Zeus and little guy Wild Things! The chase color on this one was a very cool color-shifting swampy green, but sadly I didn’t get one! The color and pose for this guy wasn’t my favorite, so I only bought one, but he’s growing on me! Especially looking back at these photos, I realize how pretty he is with his lovely blond hair! 💖 He was hiding in one of Blue Zeus’ photos on Monday, did you catch him? 😉

Blue Zeus! Or just Zeus, LOL! I feel like he’s been called Blue Zeus in all of the online discussion, but his bag just says Zeus! Hm! Anyway, this handsome fella on the Fireheart mold was the online only limited edition at Breyerfest 2024, and they SOLD OUT! I managed to get one for myself and my friend, however Breyer announced that they would simply make more for everyone who wanted one, which was nice. What was less nice was that my orders got split up, so my first Zeus arrived in July or August, and the second one had to wait until December. My friend graciously let me take the first one that arrived, but then they announced that the late horses would also come with a pin! MAN! I wanted that pin! 🤣 Luckily they offered more for sale after the fact, so I got a pin too! 💖 Blue Zeus (who my mom misheard as ‘Blue Juice’ on the livestream, since there’s no closed captioning 🤣) is based on a real horse who lives at Skydog Sanctuary! Hence his popularity and selling out!

Who runs the world? Girls! 🎉 Or rather, here is the Breyerfest 2024 model, Girls Run The World! This was one of the Special Run horses I was selected for, and she is the cremello color with a run of 1,025 pieces! At first I thought she must be a glossy version, because she is SO SHINY!! 🤩 What a stunner!

Just a quick little comparison shot between the new Fjord pony mold Sweetwater’s Zorah Belle and Better than Revenge! You can see they have different manes, mold making is so much more complex nowadays, they can swap out parts at the factory! Wow!

Next in the lineup of Breyerfest 2024 horses I never posted, Better Than Revenge! I was VERY lucky that this girl was offered online, because I think she’s my favorite! I love my quagga of course, but c’mon! Rainbow zebra!? She is astounding! Unfortunately she arrived with quite a bit of random black speckling in her gloss, but even her minor flaws cannot dim her beauty. 💖

Today I am sharing some of my photos of I Will Survive, the Breyerfest 2024 quagga exclusive! Be warned, this got a bit long, LOL! 🦓I tend to love the ‘outliers’ in any given toyline, such as the lone non-horse animal model they release every year, but this year was different. A quagga is such a severely cool animal! I knew I HAD to have this one! But it ended up turning into a whole mess. 🦓 Unfortunately for me, I Will Survive was only going to be offered as an in-person release at Breyerfest, so I knew I had to try something new: I had to find an in-person helper. I knew I would have to pay extra for one, so when I saw a lady advertising on the FB Breyer groups, I figured, she must be a pro! I messaged her, she asked for a $100 deposit (important verbiage here), with her price list listing the quagga as $190, and I knew my quagga was secured. Even if the horse was only $60 in person, I knew I had to pay for the cost of (half) of a ticket, travel and gas mileage, shipping costs, and repayment for her time. And while it was a big chunk of change for just one horse, I figured it was a worthwhile birthday expenditure for something as cool as a quagga, with my mom’s encouragement. 🦓 Imagine my surprise when my pickup person told me closer to Breyerfest that I needed to finish paying my bill - another $190. When she said ‘deposit,’ she explained that meant I was paying $100 to ‘hold my spot,’ meaning she wanted me to pay two hundred and ninety dollars for a sixty dollar horse!!!! If you’re gobsmacked, imagine how I felt, LOL! I told her that wouldn’t be happening, that her wording was extremely unclear (maybe even fraudulent, but I didn’t say that), and I’d be happy to take a refund and take my chances elsewhere. Funnily enough, she decided that she could waive the $100 fee for me ‘since it was unclear’ so I only had to pay the $190. She told me that the extra costs were for ‘cute box extras,’ and for the record, the ‘cute box extras’ I received were three stickers (two of them a free handout at the event) and the free wristband received with the ticket. I was extremely unimpressed with the whole mess, although I did receive the horse in a very timely manner and well packed. 🦓 Yesterday I was wondering why I didn’t post my horses when I took the photos back in 2024, and I think part of it is because this whole transaction left such a sour taste in my mouth. If the seller had asked for $290 at the start, I would have bolted - and I can’t help but wonder who else simply paid up, because they didn’t feel comfortable refusing such an outrageous ‘place holding fee.’ I joked with my friend that with all of the extra money she made, they’d probably be calling Breyerfest ‘Elenafest’ next year! 🤣 But despite all of the pointless heartache and stress, I Will Survive is a truly beautiful model, and I’m so glad to have her in my collection. Word to the wise, when your friend suggests using the same pickup person as she does because she likes and trusts them - LISTEN TO HER! LOL!! 🤣😵‍💫

I had to go digging through my phone for awhile to find photos I hadn’t posted… and it took awhile because these are from September 2024!!! 😵 Did I just forget I never posted anything from Breyerfest 2024?? What was I posting! 🤣 ANYWAY! Now we have a nice overview of everyone I got! There were lots of great horses this year, I’ll give you a breakdown of what I love about each horsie as we go! I even got the plush! 🤣

I wanted to put this out there, since I know Breyer is active on FB and Instagram, but not really elsewhere as far as I know. But I appreciate them still maintaining a positive and persistent position on Pride and Pride Month and all of that, especially when other loser corporations have knuckled under or abandoned it when it was no longer profitable. I'm not gonna be all 'corporations are our friends!' now, but it's a positive note in the morass of awful coming out of the US, and I wanted to share it with you guys!
