ᴊᴀʀᴏᴅ is haunted by vivid dreams of the underworld—visions steeped in shadow and mystery, where he feels the pull of something greater than himself. In his dreams, he sits upon a throne, with a towering creature standing guard at his side, its mere presence enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine. Everywhere he looks, souls linger. They circle around him like an endless tide of memories and loss, as though unable to let go of him. Yet instead of fear or unease, Jarod feels an unexpected sense of peace. Jarod has always shared an inexplicable connection with the dead, and here that bond feels stronger than ever. They are drawn to him as though recognizing something within him, something that belongs among them. It is as if, in this place far removed from the world of the living, he has rediscovered a part of himself that had long been lost.
He is a reserved and thoughtful student, often found with his nose buried in a book or writing in his journal. His journal is his sanctuary, a space where he gives shape to emotions he struggles to express aloud. His fascination with literature, plants, and Greek mythology knows no bounds.
The deeper he gets into his studies, the more often he finds pieces of old stories that affect him in ways he doesn’t understand. Sometimes he feels like he’s experienced them before. It leaves him with a strange sense of familiarity, mixed with a growing feeling of unease.
Jarod has a sister who supports him in every situation; she, too, seems to be rooted in the past. A presence in their house keeps them both from learning too much about themselves.
