husband!nanami gets home late from work
you’re on the couch in your shared living room. your eyes are focused on the tv, watching whatever is on netflix at the moment.
“where is he…” you mumble softly.
nanami, your husband of 4 years, is super late. he was supposed to get here after work at 6, but it’s already 9.
they probably made him work overtime, again. as much as he complains about having to work overtime, he always ends up doing so.
your eyes flutter shut, your body struggling to stay up.
you finally succumb to your slumber, falling asleep on the couch as the tv silently hums.
nanami gets home at around 10, keys rattling softly in the lock.
he enters quietly, assuming you’re already in bed. he peels his coat off, folding it and resting it onto the dining table.
nanami hears the soft mumble of the tv, and he enters the living room.
his eyes float to your sleeping form. you’re draped over the couch, eyes softly shut and the light tv glow on your face.
nanami melts at the sight, kneeling in front of the couch.
“sweetheart, your necks gonna hurt if you sleep here.” he brushes some stray hairs off your face, and presses a delicate kiss against your temple.
you stir lightly, mumbling.
“mmm…i wanted to wait for you, ken.”
“you didn’t have to, my dear.” he replied, eyes soft as he studies your face.
“i wanted to. i missed you.” your eyes finally open.
“i know sweetheart. i know.”
nanami presses another kiss to your temple, and his arms wrap under your knees and back, lifting you into a princess carry.
you snuggle deeper into his arms. nanami reaches the bedroom, softly pushing it open with his knee.
nanami places you gently onto the bed. he peels off his clothing, placing his tie onto the nightstand.
he crawls in bed next to you, and pulls you close to him under the sheets.
nanami peppers gentle and loving kisses all over your face, and you giggle softly.
“i love you so much, sweetheart. thank you for waiting for me.”
your eyes soften, pressing your lips against his, with no lust or desperation, just love.
you fall back into your deep sleep, your breathing slowing.
nanami’s eyes trail over your asleep expression for a minute. he then too falls into slumber, your two soft breaths mixing together.
