Poly Reassurance

I just want to say that I'm so thankful I made this blog because it makes me feel a million times better knowing I'm not the only one who needs reassurance about these things

Long distance poly relationships are valid and real, don't ever feel like your relationship is less-than because your partner isn't close

Even if your relationship has to stay in private (away from friends and family), your partner loves you and your relationship is extremely important to them. The amount of people who know about your relationship does not define how much they love you

Your partner brags about you all the time, they're so amazed by the incredible person that you are. Don't ever doubt that

Don't let your partner's other relationships make you feel less confident about your own. You're irreplaceable. Don't forget that

Don't let yourself believe you aren't good enough for your partner, they are so lucky to have you

You're important. Whether you're secondary or primary, you are important. They love you...

Polyamory is all about building new relationships. Don't let yours feel threatened when a new partner comes along, that's okay! Your relationship will not disappear, your partners love for you is still strong, it's okay. Don't worry.

Sometimes you're not going to be your partner's main priority. Sometimes someone or something else will be getting all of their attention for a while. That's okay. They still love you. They still think about you. Nothing is going to change that

Feel comfortable in your alone time. Being too dependent on one person isn't healthy. Do something for yourself, something just for you. Take a bath, buy a new outfit, just something to treat yourself. Enjoy your time without your partner

Even if your relationship is rocky right now, you can get through this. You will get through this. The love is still there, don't doubt that for a second

Just because your partner needs some alone time or needs a break from life, doesn't mean it's because of you or they need a break from you specifically. Some people just need to be alone sometimes and that's okay

When they tell you they love you, believe them. They aren't lying to you

If you and your partner get into a fight, that doesn’t mean they don’t love your or are going to leave you. ALL relationships have hardships. You will get over this and be even stronger than you were before.

You don't have to be together every day or even talk every day to have a strong relationship. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, they still love you in the days where they're too busy to check in

Spreading your attention evenly amongst multiple partners is a tough task, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just let your partners know you love them and each are special to you in their own ways and they will be more than happy.
