i fucked up and deleted the og post too early so i have to make a separate one.

for context this post might be misleading because it's not only this screenshotted post i'm apologising for, i said a lot of other things where i tried to act like hamas never did anything wrong. this is what i apologised for.

(the reason i reacted so strongly to this thing in the first place was that i was (and am) personally affected by the war here in ukraine. the way people spoke about palestine (and hamas) reminded me of the way russian propaganda tries to portray us. i really wanted to make this situation simple (israel = bad, everyone who opposes them = good) ( ^ this is not an excuse, just a reason. i still did a dumb shitty thing))

this apology was still driven by strong emotions and i failed to consider how wrong it is to keep centering hamas and to try and judge their morality and ethics. it's not wrong to seek the truth, but no matter if they are "good" or "bad" the case remains that they were created by the apartheid state of israel and no matter what they do, that would never ever change the fact that palestinians should not suffer for their actions. if every bad thing said about hamas was true that wouldn't justify what is being done to palestinians right now. a lot of israel supporters want to make this an israel/hamas war, a heroic "wiping out of terrorists" and i've only added to this. please don't make the mistake i did and instead do focus on the injustice of what is being done to palestine.

Things at my partner’s place have gotten to the point where it is unsuitable and unsafe for him to be in. We need to get him out of there. We have been formulating a plan to secure a safe place for both of us, and we need some help. More details are within the gofundme itself.

Ollie and his mom and pets got evicted suddenly today. The police were involved. Ollie only only had ten minutes and was able to grab the important and irreplaceable stuff before they were forced to leave. As of writing this they are all in a hotel in Western WA, but this is temporary. We are doing what we can to arrange transport and safe places near Seattle before we can get Ollie and Fluff here to Illinois. My best friends in southern Wisconsin have offered to house them until a place for us is secured, I am actively working on this right now.
