Rantings of a Rebelicious Mind

It boggles my fucking mind how many people think it’s perfectly legit to judge a relationship between two people that you don’t EVEN FUCKING KNOW. I don’t care how big of a fan you are of someone, how many articles you’ve read or interviews you’ve watched - you don’t really know them. You will only ever know what they or someone else allows you to know. Newsflash - that’s what being a celebrity is. And even if you happen to live down the street from them and they nod a hello when you pass, unless you’re in their bloody bedroom, YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT. The only people who have to ‘like’ their relationship is the people IN the fucking relationship.

Remember when Tumblr used to have an aura of inclusiveness (more than any other platform, imho), before we decided that 140 characters or a filtered snapshot in time told us everything we needed to know about a person’s life/character to become their judge, jury and executioner. And don’t give me this ‘if they didn’t want us to judge, they shouldn’t have posted it’ bullshit - that’s just lazy rhetoric designed to excuse shitty, judgey behavior based on your own assumptions/interpretations.

I used to love it here and now, outside of rp, I avoid it like the plague. It used to feel like a place where you could talk, debate, learn and grow. Now, everytime I log in, it just feels like high school all over again.
