is there a name for the thing where you talk about how it's misogyny that people don't give a fuck about women in media and then some asshole comments that it isnt misogyny it's just that female characters are less interesting and less common so why should i care and you just sit there thinking wow if only there was a name for why society sees women as the less interesting option.

redditors will see a post about a structural problem in society and say with their full chest that it isn't actually a structural problem, society has just always been like that actually.
