I sure hope Wonho deleted/archived his thirst traps for the aesthetics rather than because he got unwarranted hate and criticism. It’s been bugging me seeing people leave hateful comments on his posts simply because he’s confident in his own skin and likes to show his body off. It’s funny how many Kpop stans claim to be against body shaming and yet have no issues making nasty comments about Wonho’s body. Besides, he’s a grown man not a baby so he can post whatever he likes on his own account. No one is being forced to follow him or look at his posts. Idols often get sexualised by their companies beyond their own control or are infantilised by their fans and most people don’t even bat an eye. Then suddenly when an idol is confident and sexualises themself it’s seen as an issue. There are hundreds of skinny flower boys in Kpop but god forbid an idol works out and has a muscular physique. If people don’t like Wonho they can go ahead and stan one of the hundreds of flower boys instead. Yet they’d rather waste their energy leaving nasty comments just because Wonho doesn’t fit their own personal standards. This type of behaviour just reinforces the cookie cutter beauty standards of Kpop and any idol that strays from the narrow standards continues to get frowned upon just because they don’t conform. Imagine how damaging it must be for idols’ mental health constantly being told that everything they do is wrong or that they’re disgusting when all they’re doing is existing.
