He’s not bad, per se, but with the connections and his former status, he’s been put into this house. Slytherins are Ambitious, Achievement Seeking, and Built Leaders. He gets what he wants, but is fair to do it.

He looks to lead, and achieve his goals. His cleverness allows him to solve based on clues rather than prior knowledge, and uses the resources at hand to his advantage. "Life is a serious battle, and you have to use the tools you’re given. It’s more important to master the cards you’re holding than to complain about the ones your opponents were dealt.”

Blood Status: Pureblood

Year: 7th Year

Familiar: (not necessary) Liepard, his trusted Pokémon since the moment it hatched from an Egg.

Personality: Grimsley is, in a word, adaptable. He is able to analyze and change his plans in the blink of an eye to turn the tide in his favor. However, he’s not pure evil like other Slytherins might be; he’s got the ambitious and achieving qualities of the House. He’s not a brooding vampire, however, rather he’s a little humorous, somewhat sassy, and not one to get into serious trouble. Not exactly laid-back, but he doesn’t let things stress him, except for his family who never checks on him, save for his sister who sends him the occasional Howler.

Around others, he’s trying to prove that not all Slytherins are bad, but with his usual expression and appearance, he often scares off others, even some first year Slytherins. But he bonds with others well if they take the chance to know him. He also seems to be a lot more cunning than he actually his and people claim that he cheats, but he’s one to play by the rules and never break them. Duels, exams, school rules, he follows them to a T, but would spare you the rendition of the entire rulebook if you happened to break a rule.

Friends are both easy and difficult for Grimsley to come by, mostly because those he bonds with either A) Graduate in the next year or B) Leave him after they get mocked for being with a Slytherin. But he always cares about those he’s close to and would even consider them family if they bonded enough. He hopes to find a friend who will last him until he leaves and beyond, because nobody has stayed long enough or lost contact with him.

house: gryffindor — there are not many parts of ethan’s life that are as consistent as his bold and brash personality; he has always been impulsive. it’s been his dream to join the gryffindor house, though it hasn’t quite occurred to him that not everyone welcomes a living exclamation point in their lives. he would likely be an unexpected stall while being sorted due to his conflicted necessities when it comes to wanting to both satiate his curiosity and attempt to appease his strong willingness to learn; but, his stubbornness and craving for challenges alongside his fierce loyalty led him to crimson rather than cerulean.

blood status: half-blood. his mother is a witch while his father is a muggle. he’s always felt strongly attached to his mother’s side, and so it didn’t come to a surprise to his family that he was meant to go to hogwarts. if you ask ethan, he would probably say he ‘knew it since he was six years old’ when he ‘definitely cast a patronus charm while in the bathtub’. (he was that kid who stayed up all night on his tenth birthday, staring at his mailbox until his letter hit him in the back of the head since it came from the fireplace. ‘mom do you think the pure bloods would mind if i brought my gameboy to school? maybe i could make some muggle friends—’ ‘honey…’)

familiar: croconaw. // just imagine it. gold and croconaw being cheeky. ‘(sick burn)!! hey croconaw why don’t you use aqua tail because they just got ROASTED!!!!’ and then giving each other high-fives. it was meant to be. ‘bro that was such a sweet comeback, right?’ ‘grrhhwgwgw!!!’ // as a sidenote, ethan also collects croconaw’s teeth because he likes to keep track of both his and his partner’s growth. ‘dude have your teeth been getting bigger?’ ‘(excited croconaw noise?)!!!!!’ ‘all forty-eight of them are looking good bro….nice…’

personality: curious, bold, stubborn, hasty, excitable, charismatic, competitive, talkative, clever, cheeky. a bit of a prankster. forgetful. can be dramatic and often exaggerates experiences and events. good at improvising. has trouble focusing on what he personally does not find interest in. he is always craving new experiences. he appears more confident than he feels; his reasoning for this is that he might as well pretend to be confident in hopes that he will reach that level of self-assurance. 

his faults tend to be stemmed from his impulsive and stubborn behavior; as much as he wants to learn, he sometimes doesn’t realize that people have feelings and thoughts of their own. this mindset sometimes also leads him to question others persistently (including authority), usually leading to consequences. one time he tried to bring a book with him to quidditch and ended up with a dislocated shoulder. (an upperclassmen used him as example a of why you shouldn’t bring distractions to quidditch.) sixth years, man. he’s probably a well-liked student, being an overwhelming and charming (if you like the ‘i don’t know where i’m going but i gotta go fast’ type) presence to those he meets.
