Unova sets an older age limit to allow children to go out travelling on a Pokemon journey. Kanto and Johto continue to allow children to travel at the age of ten. Sinnoh and Hoenn do not have a specific age limit, but prefer trainers at the age of thirteen to go on a journey. This leave Unova with the age being fifteen or sixteen, leading them to have the ‘latest’ trainers on a journey. Kanto’s Silence Bridge (Route 12) is the Pokemon World equlivent of Australia’s Great Ocean Road. That is, it was made by returning WWI soldiers as a means to settle them back into civillian life, ran out of funds and was then covered by the then mayor of Lavender Town, serves as the Pokemon World’s largest war memorial and so on.(hoenniswheretheheartis)

Green and Daisy actually aren’t siblings, they’re cousins. Daisy’s parents died in a car accident when she was 3 and she was sent to live with her grandfather, Professor Oak. She lived there and was 9 years old when Green showed up, aged 6. They grew up together, calling each other brother and sister. (anon)
