i still can't get over the humans putting Grace in bare naked-ass rental car cupholders. no padding? not so much as a piece of cloth??? did anyone even vacuum it out before you dumped him in there eva? eva he doesn't even have a seatbelt (and probably wouldn't want one bc of the restrictive feeling) but my god he doesn't even have a seatbelt
It isn't the nicest accommodation, that's for sure. He gets the same seat a venti coffee might get. It's not Grace's favorite spot to sit, but then again if he had his way he wouldn't be going in cars or planes or any vehicles nearly as often as he is.
But you're right that he also wouldn't really like most seatbelt-like options. The thought of being tied down or even stuck in a container for travel would only drive home how trapped he is basically all the time. At least in the cupholder he can pretend he's just traveling along with everyone else.
This is especially true after the helmet incident. He will take a bare cupholder over a closed helmet any day of the week.
The casual racism against Roma I see from progressive liberal white Europeans genuinely shocks me. How do you manage to squeeze in anti-Roma racism into a conversation about American HoAs? Huh? Like it's just so ingrained they literally don't even notice it and carry on like it's nothing. And if you say something about it, they act like racism against Roma doesn't count as racism and that you're the weird one.
I’m a dog groomer and the number of our regulars named G- well, you know what - is not so worrying as the fact that I’ve had to explain to every single colleague over the last few years why I feel uncomfortable writing that word on the whiteboard for the day’s schedule and I just get weird looks.

Grace by Inches: A sense of scale
I was fiddling around trying to make a visual of the size difference between borrower!Grace and Rocky, and decided to also include his size compared to Carl as a point of reference with all the humans he's hanging around. Behold, some shapes:
Carl's height is 6'3", and Rocky's height is a bit over two feet. Grace is, of course, 6 inches even.
