This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.

If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.

This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.

To turn this off:

Go to your youtube app settings

Go to Privacy

Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"

My problem is maybe just cuz I'm on the blind spectrum and need a lot more contrast to see; i do have quite a bit of residual vision so that’s not usually as bad of an issue for me, but for obvious reasons i wanna be able to see my own art of ALL my beloved ocs. Plus even if my own vision is a lost cause lol, i figure this question is probably still helpful to others, so any advice would be lovely! :3

(Also if any other low vision artists (particularly Black artists) wanna reach out that would be much appreciated :p)

Solution #1:

The same way a (respectful!) photographer wouldn't take a bad photo of a Black person and say "well unfortunately we just can't see you because you're dark skinned", you as an artist are in full control of the lighting of your piece! That IS realism, making what you are depicting more visible! You can increase the intensity or change the colors of the light source. But light is a necessity- that's where the "contrast" comes from! I recommend studying the lighting on Black models' faces, so as to understand where light falls.

Solution #2: I'm gonna try to find it, but I know @feliville did a tutorial on this very topic, on how to increase contrast! I'll search and reblog with it if I find it.
