Kind of a second part to the last comic I posted. I made it because my people over on tiktok really really REALLY liked Miranda with short hair and just this kind of chaincaw dynamic in general 😭💔
Text under the cut
Miranda: Well that's certainly one way to welcome someone back from the dead
This will be posted over on Ao3 too, but this is my first fic for my crossover ship (Audrey Drew (batdr) x Grace Ashcroft (Re9))
Enjoy!
EDIT: Here is the ao3 link

Summary:
Audrey had enough on her plate already, wandering around looking for Bendy. She shouldn't have let him out of her sight, now something hurt him or scared him enough for him to turn back into his ink demon form.
As she was looking, she received an unexpected guest, one that is definitely not from around there.
Audrey always found herself in some… interesting situations as of late. However today definitely took the cake.
She had entered the inky world to do her maintenance check, something she tried to do regularly. But she had become far too comfortable bringing Bendy into the loop with her.
Something scared him or made him mad, Audrey wasn’t sure because he had wandered off without her noticing quick enough. When she did find him, he had turned back to his inky and monstrous form.
She tried to calm him down, but nothing worked and he ran off, but not before knocking her over.
“Bendy!” Audrey called out as she ventured through the dimly lit and inky hallways of the studio.
She had been looking for him for over an hour now, she had looped back around to her safe house, assuming that he might have run back there.
Audrey received no response.
“Great” Audrey drawled out.
I shouldn’t have let him out of my sight like that. Audrey couldn’t help but scold herself. Or I probably shouldn’t have brought him.
Just before she could let out a tired sigh, she heard something falling.
No someone, because objects don’t scream. With a loud thud whatever or whoever it was had landed.
Audrey rounded the corner, not exactly knowing what she’d see, but it definitely wasn’t this.
A woman. Not a woman made of ink like her. A regular human woman laid on the wooden floor boards groaning as she sat up.
She was around the same build and height as Audrey, but she had color to her. Nothing like the black and browns of her world.
She had short blondie hair that laid in a slight wavy. As Audrey crept closer, she could see the woman’s pale skin was covered with the thick ink she had fallen in
“Ow,” The woman grumbled. “Ugh what is this stuff?”
Her nose was scrunched up, disgusted by the black substances that now covered her body.
She had blue eyes.
Audrey didn’t know why, but she started cataloging all the woman’s features.
She’s kind of cute.
A very quick passing thought popped up in her brain. One that made Audrey blush and become distinctly aware of how close she was now.
God she felt like a creep now, maybe she should say something, though she’s surprised the woman hadn’t noticed her already.
“Hello?” Audrey spoke finally.
The woman jumped, she looked like her heart was going to jump out of her chest.
“Oh my god!” She squeaks.
“Wow!” Audrey put her hands up in defense. “Hey, it’s okay, I’m not gonna hurt you.”
The woman pressed her back firmly against the wall, her eyes darting around the hallway and Audrey.
“W-What?” The woman stuttered. “W-who are you?”
Audrey inhaled sharply.
“Wh-Where am I?”
“Uh-” Audrey trailed off. “Okay… Well.”
She kneeled down to the woman’s level, keeping her tone as calm as possible. The woman was already clearly scared of the situation, maybe even scared of Audrey herself.
“I’m Audrey,” She said, gesturing to herself.
“O-Okay.” The woman murmured.
They sat there for a moment in silence, the woman looking down at her knees nervously. Audrey had expected to get her name. But she was in a high stress situation and she couldn’t be expected to have the best manners.
“And..” Audrey prompted her. “You are?”
“Oh!” The woman exclaimed, sounding embarrassed. “R-Right, I’m Grace.”
That’s a pretty name.
“Hi Grace,” Audrey tried her best to offer a smile.
She did like how her name sounded.
“Um, so…” She continued. “How did you get here?”
“I-I- I don’t know, I blacked out,” Grace mumbled, checking herself over for any major injuries. “I remember falling and ended up here.”
“Well,” Audrey shrugged. “I’m a little confused because there aren't many people like you down here.”
“What-What do you m-mean?” Grace began to wring her hands.
“You have…actual flesh?”
That made her look up and quickly become nervous when they made eye contact.
“What?” Grace questioned.
“Eh, sorry, I know that sounded weird,” Audrey cringed a bit. “ But I’m just trying to figure out how you’re here without being made of ink.”
“I-Ink?” Grace lifted up her hands from her clothes, looking over all the ink that covered her clothes and skin. “Is that what this stuff is?”
“Yeah…” Audrey nodded. “Also, important note, if you hear it whispering, ignore it.”
Grace looked up again, her eyes wide.
“Huh?”
She realized how what she said might come off as…. insane , to someone who had no idea about the studio or the loop.
“You know what, i-it doesn’t matter,” she backtracked. “We need to get you out of here.”
Audrey extended a hand out to help Grace up, before Grace could fully react, from somewhere down the hall the floor board creaked loudly and loud thudding footsteps filled the hall.
“Auuudreyy-” A gurgly and deep voice rang through the hall.
Not now, damn it!
“Okay,” Audrey stood up quickly, and grabbed Grace by her arm, getting her to stand up quickly. “Grace, you need to come with me.”
“W-What is that?” Grace asked, trying to see down the dark hallway to see what was approaching them.
Audrey turned them both away from the noise, and walked very quickly down the hall, dragging Grace with her.
They should have time to reach somewhere safe, Bendy didn’t always move very fast in his ink demon form. Especially if he was just stalking about.
“S-Should we run?” She asked, keeping pace with Audrey, but occasionally looking back towards the noise.
Audrey debated it, but running might draw more attention to them. She hoped that Bendy hadn’t noticed them yet, particularly she hoped he didn’t notice Grace yet.
“Uh,” Audrey glanced back behind them, far down the other end of the hallway was far too dark to see how close the ink demon actually was. “It’ll be okay.”
Of course, as soon as she was trying to reassure Grace and herself, a gurgling roar was let out and the thudding got a bit faster.
Audrey began running now, Grace still doing her best to keep up.
“Audrey!?”
She dragged Grace ahead of her a bit, both still running, Audrey glancing back whenever she needed to. Not like she could see anything with the increasing dimness of their surroundings.
“Let’s go!” She shouted, keeping pace.
At the end of the hall Grace slows down a bit, not sure which turn to take. Audrey grabs her by her arm again and makes a sharp turn down the right hall.
“Wow!” Grace squeaked in surprise.
Audrey saw exactly what she hoped was there, and a crate or closet type structure in the corner of the room. It was dubbed a little miracle station, very accurately named as it has saved her more than a few times.
“We’ll be safe in here,” Audrey partially threw Grace in before her. She rushed in behind her, shutting the door as she did.
It was definitely closer than she would usually wish to be to a stranger. However Grace has done nothing to show Audrey that she’s a threat in any way, quite the opposite actually. And it helped that Grace was pretty.
They barely fit in the station together, but they both stood their backs against the sides of the box giving them a bit more space to stand.
The stomping and growing intense environment only continued. Audrey glanced trying to make out whatever she could, but she could barely see anything.
Audrey glanced over at Grace, who looked like she was trying to make herself as small as possible, her hand over her mouth trying not to breathe too loudly.
Suddenly there was a slight buzz in the air, and a low gurgling growl and the lights and air returned to normal.
Audrey lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She would need to go track down Bendy again but she had to deal with her unusual guest first.
She opens the door and steps out, careful not to step on Grace by accident.
Though Grace didn’t need much help accidentally getting hurt. As soon as she tried to take a step out of the box, she fell flat on her stomach with a groan.
With the lighting normal again, Audrey could see how red the other woman’s face had become.
Maybe it was from all the running and holding her breath.
“Uh-” She rolled over onto her back. “W-What was that all ab-about?”
Audrey sighed soundlessly, extending her hand out to help Grace up.
“That is a loaded question, Grace,”
Grace took her hand and pulled herself up from the ground, her gaze remained fixed to her shoes.
“One that we don’t have time for, I’m afraid,” Audrey shrugged. “Come on, my safe house isn’t far from here.”
Grace nodded.
“Then we can try to get you out of here,
“Okay, y-yeah,” She began swaying a bit on her heels. “L-Lead the way.”
Audrey offered a smile, even though Grace probably couldn’t see it since she was still looking down.
Despite that, she begins walking in the direction of her safe house. She was still a bit wary of bringing a stranger by, but Grace obviously needed help, and she was curious to find out where she came from exactly.
“Watch out for the puddles,” Audrey offered as a piece of advice.
Grace mumbled something, maybe just a confirmation that she heard Audrey.
“Also, I'm sorry about dragging you around back there.” She said.
“N-no it’s okay,” Grace replied. “You w-were just trying to help m-me.”
“Still,” she breathed.
“I-I’m used to the whole running ar-around and being scared s-stuff now,” Grace tried to laugh her own anxiety off.
“Oh?” Audrey arched her brow.
“Y-Yeah, s-so,” Grace began. “W-why is there so much ink around here? And was that thing following us some sort of infected or?”
“Infected?” Audrey stopped and turned to her. “The ink isn’t exactly an infection…well… uh.”
She paused thinking for a moment.
“It’s complicated,” Audrey continued. “But what makes you say that?”
“I-I don’t k-know, I don't even know if I-I’m in the same world anymore honestly,” Grace replied.
“You aren’t, I can tell you that much,” Audrey nodded as she began to walk again. “But it’s okay, I can get you home.”
“Are y-you sure?” Grace began to sound more on edge. “I don’t even think I’m in the same time period anymore.”
“You probably aren’t,” Audrey laughed a bit. “This place messes with time, what year was it for you?”
“2026.”
Audrey stopped and turned quickly.
“Huh!?” She was baffled.
“Well w-what year is it for y-you?” Grace asked, her head tilted a bit.
“1974,”
Grace’s head shot up now, actually holding eye contact with Audrey now.
“Well, this place is actually stuck in…1940? Or something, I don’t know exactly.” Audrey said, still trying to process everything.

[Scheduled Post] (Away on a trip, will be gone for a bit)
I think about that photo of Miranda holding baby Evaline a lot, she must have carried her herself right? I like to think that Mia acted as a mid-wife before her babysitter role hehe
If you remember or don't know I made an AU where I had Mia Winters join Chris' Hound Wolf Squad after the events of RE8 so she could be closer to Rose.
....And I'd be stupid if I didn't jump at the opportunity to somehow make this about Chaincaw
Yes I brought back Miranda and gave her short hair and I will explain how I brought her back later, but what's important is that this is a few years into the AU
Mia was on a recon mission, got separated from her squad and found Miranda. That's pretty much the context.
