on one hand i can see why freddy's lack of meaningful appearances at the forefront of FNAF's lore can be quite frustrating, but i also think it opens interesting questions and justifications as to why.

he's remains neutral because he's a mascot of both freddy fazbear's pizza and of five nights at freddy's. not an 'individual' but a general blanket classification. golden FREDDY, rockstar FREDDY, glamrock FREDDY, etc.

his personhood being stripped from him happens on a smaller scale within the story as soul possession and on a larger scale as a commodified/marketable figure.

then further in us already understanding that the leader and entertainer are self-sacrificing story archetypes that mirror other people's own needs rather than their own.
