I’ve been thinking about how beautifully designed the Pocketville Castle is. I like that it combines majesty with fun in a way because it looks imposing, as the home of a monarch should be, yet includes the bright colors often found in castles and palaces from merchandise-driven series and the paw theming that’s prevalent in the In My Pocket series. Not to mention the Magic Fountain in front of it having a unique design and being huge.
The castle is one of the major settings in Adventures in Pocketville that help prove that the show had so much potential to develop its lore more, since it is the home of Princess Ava (a character who also has huge potential to include a lot of lore).
We get to see a few indoor areas of the castle, with three in particular looking very interesting. That being the throne room, Ava’s bedroom, and the kitchen.
They’re all quite detailed just like the castle’s exterior, with the throne room even having a high ceiling since it is the main room of the building after all. Where the monarch and the Royal Guards supposedly have their meetings. The heart themed furniture in Ava’s bedroom is adorable, especially the bookshelf. The kitchen also stands out because of its green walls. I will admit I wish there was something else in the wall behind the thrones rather than just a painting of the castle and the fountain, like perhaps a heraldry or something, and the paintings being of other Siamese cats rather than random dogs and kids, both of which would keep people wondering about a potential royal family of the Pocket Kingdom and therefore ponder about a backstory for Ava and Eva (since we barely got one in the show if any at all).
However, one area I’m not a fan of is the corridor. Or corridors, rather.
No windows, very little lighting, no decorations, and a very washed out color of walls. It makes sense for it to be an underground passage like in the third episode, “Evershell the Wise”, where Kate and her friends find a secret passageway that leads far outside the castle’s premises, but we also see the same kind of corridor used as the one leading to the throne room in episode “Heads Up”. Shouldn’t there be like a fancy antechamber or something that leads to one of the most important rooms of the castle along with a more decorated hallway?
We do end up seeing this view from Ava’s bedroom showing a more decorated, almost baroque style corridor that looks more like the bedroom itself with the yellow walls and such. But we don’t actually get to see any scenes that take place exactly in it.
Sometimes I wonder what other rooms the castle could have, especially since we only saw very little of what looks like a huge castle. Of course, I have my AU to work on that I can include more rooms, like the drawing rooms often found in real life palaces/castles along with more important rooms like an armory and more bedrooms since I’m also giving Ava and Eva more family members and such.
This show is really fascinating, and it’s always making me wonder about what lore it could have.
There are so many animals I wish were in Adventures in Pocketville. And I mean so many.
- More breeds of dog like corgis, chihuahuas, Doberman and miniature pinschers, spaniels (like cocker and King Charles spaniels), Belgian malinois, etc. More mixed breeds too!
- More cat breeds like the Bengal, Savannah, Abyssinian, snowshoe, ragdoll, etc. As well as cats with unique fur patterns like a lynx-point (basically colorpoint with tabby), tabby calico, and more! I don’t think I even got to see a tuxedo cat in the show either!
- More wild cats like ocelots, clouded leopards, black-footed cats, servals, lynxes, caracals, Pallas cats, etc.
- More birds. Owls and other birds of prey (like other eagles, hawks, condors, and vultures), geese, swans, pigeons and parrots (especially since they are often pets in real life), and so much more. Kind of wish there were different birds as part of the Winged Guards instead of just the bald eagles.
- More reptiles besides the turtles, frogs, and snakes.
- ESPECIALLY more rodents! To my knowledge I only saw three kinds in the show, that being beavers, squirrels, and of course one of the Chosen Pets being a guinea pig named Goldie. I’m surprised we didn’t see any rats or mice; they’d be perfect for both Pocketville (since they’re often pets) and the Big City (both pigeons and rats are common in large cities yet apparently this show only features stray dogs and cats).
- Foxes (my favorite animal)
- Wolves and coyotes
- Badgers
- Otters
- Raccoons
- Rhinoceroses. There are elephants and hippos, so why not the rhinos too?
I could name so many more since the animal kingdom is so big of course. But I think I got a lot of the big ones here.
Princess Ava from Adventures in Pocketville is back again… this time as an animatronic! And she’s with Starcade Chuck, who built her and all! Don-chan (who somehow has wings) also decided to tag along; expect an arcade rhythm game mascot sometimes showing up whenever this version of Chuck E. Cheese shows up.
I was inspired by @evabestkitty / @doingascat when it comes to drawing a depiction of a Pocketville character as an animatronic. I decided to go for a more “realistic” approach, akin to animatronics found in various theme parks as well as CEC and what certain well-known animatronic companies made. Perhaps Chuck made this animatronic for a Pocketville-themed dark ride!
Here’s my interpretation of the Friendship Heart’s origin along with an important OC in my AU that’s connected to Ava/Queen Avalina. It’s included in my AU so I’m going to use some AU terms though. I was inspired by the Sword in the Stone when writing this.
Content warning: mentions death, war, and violence (nothing will be very detailed though); it’s part of Queen Amalthea’s biography. It’s also a long read.
Amalthea, a powerful princess from an ancient noble family of Faelicour, escaped into the fields on a cold winter’s night after being told by her mother to flee the city when it was attacked by a demon army. As she was at the brink of losing all hope, she prayed to the celestials that she may have the strength and courage to save what’s left of her people and home.
She woke up, inside one of a nearby and untouched village’s houses, to hear a distant rumbling noise, and outside the window was a glowing, bright red meteor zipping through the night sky. She carefully looked to see where it may land, and it wasn’t long until she felt the vibrations of the impact that was not far from where the village stood.
Not long after, some of the villagers would go out into the cold and cautiously approach the fallen meteorite out in the fields, with Amalthea following them. What she would find amongst the space rock is a glowing red ruby-like jewel perfectly carved in the shape of a heart. As some of them murmured in curiosity about the jewel embedded in the meteorite, with some of them attempting to pry the jewel out of the rock to no avail, she stepped forward to inspect it.
As Amalthea placed her paw on the jewel, it seemed to glow brighter once it made contact with her paw. She then tried and take the jewel from the meteorite, which would prove a success. The jewel let out a magical shockwave that nearly knocked Amalthea over, as well as melting the rest of the surrounding snow and causing flowers to rapidly grow all over the grass. She felt newfound magic surge through her body as well. The village leader had proclaimed, “O, the Gods have chosen this young lady to disperse the evil with her pure heart, to become that very beacon for all of us to follow, to rule with kindness, peace, and goodwill.”
Feeling a new sense of the very strength and courage Amalthea had prayed for, she stood up with confidence, clutching the jewel to her chest and saying, “We must gather all those who are strong enough and wish for the turmoil to end, to save our lands from this great evil. We must prepare to head to the city to vanquish those demons once and for all.”
Of course, there was a huge battle in the field not far from the ruined city. Amalthea, along with surviving nobles and brave commoners who have trained well to fight such beasts, defeated the powerful demon army with the jewel proving a great help. She used this jewel to banish the leader of the demon army back into the netherworld. After defeating the demons, many of the creatures would catch sight of Amalthea with the jewel next to the sunrise, immediately seeing her as the one who shall be their new queen of a new era.
Amalthea entered the ruins of the city and eventually what was once the palace. She then learned that her immediate family sadly did not survive the siege, and had perished not long after she fled. She weeped underneath the only tree in the garden that had survived— a lone sycamore— knowing that she couldn’t save them. Her tears mixed with the flowing magic from the jewel, which caused something magical and grand to happen. What had magically materialised right before her eyes was a palace even bigger and grander than her old home, and with that, a fountain in the middle of the front garden and new, young saplings and flowers growing all over. But most of all, the jewel gently pulsated next to her chest as she was telepathically told: that her family will always be in her heart.
Not long after much of the city was rebuilt and Amalthea settles in the new palace would she appoint new people to work in it, with many becoming part of her inner circle. They worked hard to both help establish a new nation and make preparations for Amalthea to become the first Queen of their new nation, which they had named Faenima. A brand new collar was made to hold the jewel, decorated in symbols important to Amalthea and the folk belief of these creatures. And so, on the first day of spring, she was eventually crowned as Queen Amalthea d’Aulicor, Queen of Faenima.

Something I’ve been wanting to work on for a while is a proper heraldry, or coat of arms for my interpretation of Ava and Eva’s family (and potentially the kingdom itself). They’re really cool looking and I’ve been looking into symbols I’ve developed for the AU.
We already have the Friendship Heart (Heart of Aulicor as it’s called in this AU) as well as the star (when considering Ava’s birthmark) that wasn’t too elaborated upon. So I’ve also included things like roses, celestial bodies like the sun and moon, etc.
Oh, and it’s the North Star that’s an important symbol. It’s represented by an eight-pointed star instead though.

Mother’s Day was last Sunday, so I’m going to explain what I have so far about my take on Ava and Eva’s mother for my Faenim Chronicles AU. I haven’t drawn her yet, but expect a drawing of her soon.
Fair warning: there will be somewhat heavy topics discussed!
Queen Corinna Leane d’Aulicor is the mother of Queen Avalina and Princess Evadne and previous monarch of Faenima. She’s a cinnamon-point Faelicour with gold accents (a prominent trait in the Aulicor line) and blue eyes, much like her daughter Avalina, though what distinguishes her from her daughter is both the white tip on her tail and lack of the North Star birthmark.
She was a kind and loving mother to the twins and doting wife of the late King Abelardo. She also has an interest in both astronomy and mythology since her youth, and always wondered what lies beyond the boundaries of the world, where the Celestials dwell and all, which was why she often spent time at both the palace shrine and the observatory. Being quite studious herself just like the love of her life, it’s no wonder she and Abelardo got along so well together and eventually fell in love. She also knew the arts well and had a fair amount of artistic talent. Perhaps talent did run in the royal family after all…
However, one day she would disappear, leaving behind the collar with the Aulicor Heartstone on her bedside. There had been an ongoing investigation as to where she ended up and what could’ve happened to her, but so far nobody has found any more clues. Still mourning the loss of their father ten years ago (a victim to Crimson Flu), the twins were even more wrecked from the disappearance, and it was what further tore their lives apart.
Now, Avalina and Evadne are determined to find their mother and make the perpetrator pay once and for all.
The North Star, the brightest star in the night sky, is a very important symbol in Faenima (Pocket Kingdom). It is part of the Celestial Pentacle alongside the Sun and the Lunar Trinity. Not only does it represent the Upper and Lower Celestials, but it is also believed to be where the Heavenly Palace is. It is depicted on multiple heraldry and important items, such as the coat of arms and L’Amulette d’Aulicor, the collar that holds the Aulicor Heartstone that is worn by the monarch (and currently worn by Avalina). The jewel is even said to have come from the North Star.
The Aulicor Palace is just a couple ways north of the capital city El’Magia. When seen from a certain angle during the night, the North Star appears to top the center-most tower of the palace, the royal observatory itself.
Certain members of the royal family bear a birthmark in the shape of the North Star, particularly in the line of succession. There is a superstition that they open up a new era of prosperity the kingdom. Notable members include Queen Amalthea, the first Queen, who has the mark on her forehead, and Queen Avalina, who has it on her front right paw.
As you can see, I wanted to make more lore related to the star birthmark Ava has on her paw.
Evadne is going to be a character I really need to take my time on developing, at least compared to her sister Avalina. She has a much different personality from canon and everything. I feel like the design I have in mind probably will take less time than thinking about her personality and aspirations. But as they say, you can’t rush art.

her whole childhood she was jealous of her older twin sister Avalora Dawnbloom, who seemed "favourite" amongst not only her parents, but the whole kingdom as well, always told to be the perfect monarch of Korona, which deeply upsetted Evelyn, because she felt extremely lonely and insecure, thinking she shouldn't have been born to be a "burden" of the Royal family. a second twin.
Evelyn thought of Avalora as a "spoiled favourite sibling", that upsetted Evelyn by asking her to keep her inherited dark powers secret from the public because the parents didn't want their picture-perfect royal reputation to be "ruined".
Evelyn has grown bitter and hurt until when both her and Avalora turned 20 in human years, hosting a big coronation of Avalora after both twins' parents recently died in a shipwreck.
a big argument have happened between two sisters which resulted in Evelyn snapping and accidentally exposing her dark powers to everyone on the coronation. the magic animals were scared, and some of them started whispering between each-other and some even called Evelyn "evil" out loud, and that made Evelyn run out in the unknown direction, afraid to hurt others with her magic and feeling humilitated for lashing out all her frustrations which made her an "evil witch" in other animals' eyes.
an evil witch. that's how they see her after all this time.
days has passed. months even. march, april, may. june, and finally july. the month when Evelyn has gotten a new look. a newfound family. and a quiet little house near a cliff with a beautiful sea view.
no, she didn't become evil like everyone has been seeing her. she's actually become kinder, more confident now that she has her new family by her side that didn't judge, dismiss or pressure her into anything.
