Johnâs walking through the hallway, three books and a binder in his arms, when the guy walks up. âHey, nerd.â As always, John rolls his eyes and tells Aaron to fuck off, but the bully doesnât leave. He never does. âWow, rude. I was going to give you a gift, but now I see youâre too ungrateful for the damn thing.â John almost stops, but instead he scoffs and continues walking. He knows that Aaron is probably just pulling his leg, and even if he wasnât, he has no time for the guy. Heâs got a Pokemon Evolution class to get to, and heâs already late enough. âHey, asshole! Iâm still talking to your dumb ass.â The guy calls. John turns, annoyed. He has no time to dodge the red blur flying at his face, and when it smacks him in the forehead he yelps, hands dropping his books in favor of rubbing at the mark the blur made. John barely hears Aaronâs words as he bends to find his glasses that had fallen off when the object hit his face. The words only register later, after John was in class, glasses on and object blindly thrown into his bag.
âTake the stupid thing. Itâs almost as useless as you are.â

Itâs not until John gets out of school that he pulls the object out of his bag. Heâs on the way home, alone as his sister is in some club today, and he digs in his bag for it as soon as he remembers itâs there. John gasps when he sees what heâs been given. Itâs a Pokeball, the red and white surface scratched in some places yet still obviously a ball. John doesnât even think about putting it back, his thumb over the button before he even knows it. He presses the button and throws the ball, watching it closely.
The ball opens with a flash of light and out hops a little Eevee. He knows sheâs an Eevee from his Pokemon Evolution class, mainly because Eevee can evolve into multiple pokemon depending on the evolutionâs conditions and man this is so cool, except no, heâs nerding out and needs to get back on topic. The little Pokemon blinks and looks up at him, fear and confusion in her eyes. Itâs obvious that the Eevee was treated badly, in pristine condition physically yet horrifyingly scared. John bends down slowly, holding one hand out for her to sniff. Heâs in awe, but his little buddy is not. The pokemon jumps forward almost instantly, and before the pain in Johnâs hand can even register sheâs gone, running in the other direction. John yelps and pulls his hand back, sticking the tiny wound in his mouth and running after his Eevee. Sheâs not getting away that easily!
Jade was walking along with a couple bags from the local shop in hand, her Mudkip waddling along at her side. She and her brother were hungry for some snacks, her Mudkip equally hungry (she thought, part of her also thought that his behavior was because it desired food no matter what), so she had a separate bag for his food as well. It was a wonderful day, not all that cloudy and just a nice day in general to do whatever she felt like doing. She was actually pretty thankful she was almost back to the school, because she knew how often her brother would get picked on. This was almost a daily thing, she felt bad leaving him alone for quite a while. So she looked to her Mudkip, who was a couple paces ahead of her, before she started to follow his lead and sprint alongside him.
And so she returned back to the school yard, stopping as she saw her brother, running around like a madman, after an Eevee. This was definitely something different to see, only for the fact that it was usually the other way around in the school yard, making both the female and the Mudkip stop in confusion. âI leave for a few minutes...â She thought to herself before sighing, setting their food down before going to see what John was doing. Now here was the challenging part; getting him to stop long enough to be able to see what was going on.
âYou know what to do, Mudkip,â Jade said, smiling and nodding down to the small, blue creature at her side. Said male looked back up at her excitedly, nodding with an excited âMud!â before he started running off to catch up to his ownerâs brother. He didnât know what was going on, but Mudkip was almost always the one to get it settled. So, with a simple water gun on the ground in front of the human man, getting it to the point where it was slippery to both make him fall and to make sure he was able to listen to his sister. While food wasnât important for the while, the fact that John was running around like a madman after an Eevee was pretty important.
