So I reblogged this exactly a week ago because I thought it was funny and uh lo and behold, a family friend wrote me a big ol’ check just to help me out of a tough financial spot AND my bank refunded me $32 for fees they’d originally taken out. SO UH YEAH. Reblogging this again in hopes that it brings equally good fortune to my followers.

i dropped off my resume at this place at 1:15 and got called for an interview at 1:45 holy dang

Something I will never get is people who are like… proud of not doing stuff with their dogs. Proud of doing the bare minimum. Boasting about how they aren’t extra like so many dog people on the internet. Etc. Don’t get me wrong, we all know people on the internet who do much more with their dogs than is necessary for good physical and mental health and post photoshoot level pics of whatever it is they’re up to today… but frankly I would rather someone be TOO extra - in a way that is silly and overboard but ultimately not diminishing the dog’s quality of life - than do only just enough that their dog isn’t chewing through the walls. Similarly, I would much rather someone be passionate about dog training and dog care - as gawky and obnoxious as it may seem to people not chugging the koolaid - than be vocally mocking others for being interested in esoteric topics which only dog people really care about. Why the negativity? I think it would do everyone good if instead of attacking others for innocuously nerding out (out of… insecurity I suppose? Not really sure), they found things they are passionate about instead
