BARBER: So you go regularly to the hospital for your hormone injection? TATSU: [nods] BARBER: Does it hurt? TATSU: Not at all. BARBER: You have more facial hair. It must be the hormones. You’ll get a moustache soon. TATSU: I’ll look distinguished! They’ve made quite the difference. I never thought I’d change so much. Most customers say I’m like a man. BARBER: Really? TATSU: [laughing] They say, “You look like a man. You’re not cute.” BARBER: [laughs]

Last year, photographer Devin Doyle, who’d spent two years photographing high school rodeo culture in the United States, became curious as to what the Mexican equivalent might look like. After all, he says, “It’s the same land, the same ranching culture.” What he found was an exciting competitive equestrian sport performed by women dressed in stunning traditional costumes, a sport directly inspired by the Adelitas—the female soldiers who fought in the Mexican Revolution.

My puppy, Sisi, just turned 8 yrs old on May 14th, 2019. We saw that she has these swollen areas on her neck and she has more on her hind legs. Her eyes have been turning red as well.

We have gone to the vet, but they quoted us for about $900 for the exams. We are hoping to raise money to cover the costs of the exams and the extra to start any immediate procedures.

Sisi entered our lives when I was 15 years old. She has been there for all the ups and downs. She’s a hilarious dog and does the funniest things even though she has the most peaceful and calming soul a dog could ever posses. When I was going through a rough time, Sisi would jump up on the couch and rest by my side until I felt better. When my sister would get sick with a cold, she would do the same thing, while my sister took a nap and my sister would feel so much better the next day.

We are super grateful for any donation amount that you can give us. We currently have some money set aside for her, but it’s not nearly enough for what we need to get the procedures started.
