wanting to take care of a f/o who spent so much time taking care of you. making sure you're pampered in a way that makes you wish you could stay in their arms forever…

but it's their turn, isn't it?

holding their face in your hands to press gentle kisses against their face, from their eyelids, to their nose, to their lips, watching as they melt and let out a weak sigh of content as they trust their entire being in your hands. or running your hands through their hair, letting your nails scrape against their scalp as they nuzzle deeper into warmth as they wrap themselves around your waist.

to see them ready to collapse into your arms when they are tired from all the stress of life. even a hug from you makes them feel like they can forget all their problems. that a nuzzle against your neck to inhale that scent that they've grown attached to can save them from everything. as long as they're with you, they feel safe. secured. pampered. like they're finally home. even when they close the door to your shared home. it's not home unless it's with you.

to the selfshippers with physical disabilities:

f/o doesnt view the situation as they "have to take care of you", they see it as they "GET to take care of you".

if you end up collapsing out of the house with no mobility aids, they will carry you the whole way home with you held tightly in their arms. you are so unbelievably precious to them and f/o wouldnt dare to ever let you think otherwise.

on extra flare-up days, f/o will be doting on you and caring for you every second of it. even when youre already sitting down, they cant help but ask if they can hold you, the only comfort they can get knowing youre safe and sound in their arms.

if youre too anxious to stick up for yourself in public, f/o can do the social interactions for you. of course they encourage you to be brave, but if you really cant, they will do everything they can to let people know what you need.

If you have a physical disability...

Imagine your f/o taking care of you during a bad flare up.

Making you wholesome foods that align with what you can eat. From solid to liquid foods, they pour all their energy into making something that'll nourish your aching body.

Bringing you your pills on time with your favorite drink to wash them down.

Massaging whatever hurts with a soothing cream.

Sitting next to you, watching your favorite shows and movies, even if you end up dozing off every time.

Listening to you vent about your disorders when it becomes too much. Wiping away any tears that shed during.

Helping you maintain hygiene, whether it's a bed bath or assisting you in the shower. They even pick the most comfty pair of PJs to change into afterwards.

Imagine your f/o doing all this with a smile on their face, so happy to take care of you. There's nothing else they'd rather do than be the strong shoulder for you to rest and depend on.

sleepy confession with your f/o. the two of you are cuddling, wrapped in a blanket of each other’s heat and scent, with the weight of their embrace lulling you to sleep. then one of you says those fated three words in a raspy voice, the slurred words tumbling out as naturally as breathing. without even a thought, guided by the faint thump of your pulses on each other’s fingers, the response comes swift and easy: “love you too.”

bonus points if this is the first time you two have confessed to each other. you two go to sleep, not even realizing what happened until you two wake up.

Your f/o cares about you. They want to weather every storm with you. They want to advocate for you. They want to fight for you. They want to be in your life. They want to be by your side, holding you hand, facing whatever challenge the future will bring. Not out of obligation or pity, but because they truly love you.
