I think it was really tough for people to swallow because they knew this was the last episode ever, so if they didn’t get everything they wanted out of that story, they’re going to be upset. I totally understand that. But the thing I want to say to those people is: I think the show was supposed to end in year six with Charlotte revealed as “A.” When we decided to continue working on it and decided to create a new character, it’s a genesis story. It’s going to be a genesis story because somebody had to pick up the lead from Charlotte. I don’t know what to say other than I’m sorry.

-Wren and Charlotte knew each other for a while? -Wren met Alex at some point, around season 4? -Charlotte met Archer on the plane when she escaped at the end of season 4? -Wren told Charlotte about Alex around that time? -The four of them were buddy buddy while she planned the whole doll house thing? -Then Charlotte is caught and in court ordered therapy at a psychiatric hospital for 4 years where Archer pretends to fall in love with Alison (why does he do that?)? -During this time Alex becomes obsessed with Spencer and the girls? -Charlotte is released and Mona accidentally kills her. -Alex, Mary, and Archer become the big bad to find out who killed Charlotte? But Mary wasn’t really into it at the end… Did Mary know about Alex at this time, or was Archer hiding that from her? -Archer is killed and Mary is no longer really on her side and tries to protect Spencer so Alex makes these plans to trap her and become her? Does this sound accurate? Any thing mixed up or off?

There was nothing said about Charlotte planning the dollhouse.

Alex became obsessed with Spencer after Charlotte’s death. Alex wanted to avenge Charlotte, but then she became obsessed with Spencer.

Archer and Mary weren’t working with Alex. Mary didn’t know about Alex being until a few weeks ago.

According to 7x20, Alex and Mary weren’t working together until 7x20.

Thank youuu! I’m just going to pretend that she became obsessed with Spencer and the girls while Charlotte was still alive because 5 years of obsessing makes more sense (even though it wasn’t actually in the show). Then Charlotte’s death was the catalyst for her hostile take over.

They could've done so much with this twin storyline I'm so mad!! Imagine if Alex had been around from the beginning and she was the one to do everything that Spencer doesn't remember (that night, things before she was admitted to Radley etc). They could've explained everything using Alex and I just can't believe the laziness and incompetence of the writers 😤😤 SO MUCH WASTED OPPORTUNITY

Preeeeeeach. To me making her be AD since day one brings nothing but positives. I can’t understand why they didn’t. I have a feeling it’s because they were in over their heads and couldn’t hack summing up so many left over plots in one season. It was easier for them to make her a new villain and leave everything else. They don’t have to worry about audience ratings anymore so they probably thought “oh well! who cares if people are mad!”

Just twisted enough to work but not so twisted like Marlene trying to cram the Charlotte is a transgender woman down our throats (why did she need to be transgender? It makes no sense... Of course, make the bad guy a transgender person for no actual plot reason). I actually think Twincer was a better reveal than Cece...

I was so depressed last night. I watched the show with my parents and my boyfriend — I promised my parents since the very beginning of the show that I’d watch the very last episode with them because they’ve been my biggest fans and supporters, so I owed it to them to watch that with them — and it was the best ending I could’ve had. I cried in the last scene. Even though we finished filming last October, it felt like it’s lived on because we’ve been watching it. Now it’s really over. It’s something we all created and it’s beautiful, but now it’s over. I was very depressed about it last night, to be honest.

Alex being the one who hit Bethany That Night and it was her who Spencer saw. Spencer just assumed she was the one who did this because at this point it was the only reasonable explanation.

Alex being caught on NAT videos. That’s how they found out about her existence. That’s the reason why Melissa was acting so strange, why she was protecting Spencer from “before it even started” and why Ian and Garrett had to die.

It could have been what Maya knew.

Ian knowing about Alex and thinking it was actually her when he wanted to push Spencer off the Bell Tower.

Alex hiding in that creepy, haunted house and watching the girls.

Alex hiding in Jenna’s garage and getting hurt in the fire. Maybe not her face but her body so she still could impersonate Spencer.

Alex being the one we saw in the flashback from before Ali went missing that Spencer doesn’t remember.

Alex stealing the game from Mona because at this point she not only hated Spencer but all of them.

Mona asking Spencer to join A Team not only because Spencer was so smart. Mona noticed there were times when Spencer acted shady. She just didn’t know it was her twin.

Alex switching places with Spencer from the beginning.

Alex making Toby join the A Team and fake his death so she could mess up with Spencer’s head and send her to Radley.

All the British words or references during the show.

How A knew so many things about the girls and nobody never saw them.

Alex being Black Veil and that’s the reason why she needed to hide her face.

Alex dressing up as the masked man in the dollhouse and that’s why Spencer had a feeling she actually knew that person.

Seriously, the list could go on.

It’s all there. They could have used all of this and made it look like it was all planned even if it wasn’t. I’m not saying it would have tied up all the loose ends but it would make much more sense.

So many possibilities. Such a wasted potential.

Also, they easily could have said wren knew Alex for years before the pilot, then met the Hastings. He goes to dinner in the pilot, sees Spencer, confronts Melissa about it, melissa either knows already & is protecting Spencer, or her protection strata there. Melissa tells wren not to say anything to anyone, so when he goes back to England, he tells Alex all this and she’s really pissed that this other family also doesn’t want her. Boom. Motive. Also I’m on mobile and it won’t let me correct any spelling 😭

There was a brief flash of a moment where we were going to possibly kill Ali. But that lasted like, a day. I even had talked to Sasha about it, and she was like ‘Oh, okay, if that’s really what you wanna do…’ and then I was like ‘No, no, no. That’s not what we wanna do.’ I just can’t. I would’ve never done it. I couldn’t even write the goodbye scene. There’s no way I could’ve written a PLL death.
