In the light of December 17th
I’d like to state that I have absolutely no intention of deleting anything that could be considered NSFW content from my tumblr account.
I’ve neer been one to bend over backwards, especially not concerning rules, especially not concerning rules which I find superficial or in a contradiction with my own beliefs or in contradiction with other rules stated by the same source.
I’m fully aware that Tumblr is a private company and therefore it’s 100% up to them to decide the direction they’d like to take. I think that they should be able to censor whatever they find inappropriate, although the real reason behind this fatal decision of theirs may lay elsewhere. However, that doesn’t change the fact that I find the mere idea of censorship utterly disgusting.
The subject of censorship, and freedom in general, is very close to my heart and I refuse to participate in anything that feeds censorship in any aspect.
Again; Tumblr has the right to state what they don’t wish to have posted on their site but everyone else also has the right to refuse this new policy. Yes, since it’s a violation of rules, a punishment is soon to follow. The person violating the rules intentionally should be able to consider and recognise they’re going to be punished and take their punishment or revolt against it.
In my opinion - since Tumblr has the right to dictate their rules, as I’ve stated before, I shall accept the punishment for not following said rules.
If I’m to be banned from using this site because I refuse to follow the new order, then so be it. I fully intend to violate the rules and I’m prepared to face a punishment.
Morality has always been far more valuable than rules from my point of view. If any rule is immoral, or at least it is what I find immoral, I’m not going to accept it.
In this case, my personal beliefs are of higher importance than the option to remain an active user of Tumblr.
Passive-aggressive note:
If tumblr has made this decision because of the pornbots, to make their site somehow more suitable for advertisers, then I’m genuinely curious if said advertisers are going to be at least in the slightest interested in such opportunity. After all, advertising is a waste of time and money if there’s no one left for you to advertise to.
Reblogging from my other account!
Even though ,I’m no longer capable of managing two tumblrs due to my schedule, I still check on my DMMd blog from time to time to see how it’s all been going ever since I’ve, unfortunately, left.
This issue is a pressing one and I’d like to share my point of view as much as possible. I think that it deserves to be shared on this account especially considering that this is probably the most NSFW account I’ve ever run.
My opinion stays and it’s not going to change. None of the NSFW post I’ve reblogged so far is getting deleted, at least not by my hand. I’ve enjoyed supporting all the amazing artists who produce the NSFW content, I’ve enjoyed sharing said content with all of you, it’s been a real huge and I will not pretend that this joy never existed.
If you haven’t heard of it yet and you’d like to express your revolt against this new policy, please consider joining the log off protest!
