#this post is making me mad for no reason (it's my fault basically; nothing wrong w it) bcs this isn't a tutorial tip popup it's a status #information thing. like how it does when your guy is paralyzed that turn and didn't do anything because paralysis #ANYWAY in canes anyone actually wants to know: Mold Breaker basically just ignores other abilities/makes them stop working #so say your pokemon has Intimidate which would lower the opponent's attack stat - Mold Breaker ignores this and attack is not lowered #or it'll make it so Earthquake hits a pokemon with Levitate (would not normally hit)#generally these are explained in the status menu for a pokemon but this also presumes that *you* have a mon with mold breaker #otherwise idk the games not gonna tell you about enemy abilities so trial and error figure it out or google it in this day and age

I’m OBSESSED with how GameFreak accidentally made the most autistic character ever with Red when they were just trying to make him represent as broad a player base of the original games as possible. He’s canonically semi-verbal, and the number of times he actually speaks can be counted on one hand. He’s absurdly skilled at one topic he has an interest in, being a prodigy outranking almost everyone at fourteen. He immediately ran away from what was essentially a public facing job relating to it and hid away from people completely for several years to the point his own mother had no clue how he was. He rarely emotes and only people close to him seem to understand how he’s feeling. He’s almost always depicted as fiddling with the brim of his hat compulsively. He is seen as cool and badass BECAUSE of these traits. Fucking excellent. I love it. Best character ever. GameFreak should bring him back in every game.

somewhat baffling to see people hating on the gen10 starters. "they dont even feel like pokemon" thats how it is every single new gen and i do mean every single one. gen3 starters initially didnt seem like pokemon. but thats really a very temporary impression because you see them so out of context. i think the only time the "these new starters are ugly as fuuuuuyck" was true was gen8. scorbunny and sobble lines were horrid. and frankly quaxly and fuecoco were a bit ugly too but its okay because sprigatito carried cuteness-wise and also the final evos looked awesome. but gen10 starters literally look fine. theyre very cute. bit of a gen2 vibe to them honestly, just cute and not terribly detailed

whats especially funny to me is seeing people hating on gen10 starters by contrasting them with gen4 and gen5 starters. "this is what turtwig chimchar and piplup would look like if they were gen10 🙄" absolutely hilarious examples because like. gen4 and gen5 starters were absolutely despised when they came out. none of you folx are old enough to rember it seems. how much people hated that gen4 mons were so overdesigned and how much they hated everything about tepig. people were mad as FUCK about that little pig. like idk to think that ds era starters would now get their "starters used to look GOOD... now they look like SHIT" type spotlight
