similarly i've yet to read any kind of premade ttrpg story that wasn't the smallest most low stakes shit in the world that relies on the idea that you're roleplaying as a complete dipshit

hear a lot of praise for deadfire here which is insane to me cause i genuinely consider it a complete failure of a game and like where it has been compared to the first game the praise has worked in that i realized the first game is kinda shit but the entirety of deadfire is the biggest thing in the world is sprinting in a straight line across the sea and you have to spend the entire game doing detective work to figure out he's sprinting in a straight line and then in the climactic final act of the game you're interrupted by a girl you killed in the first game saying actually you suck and her group of 4 wizards, 3 of which you have already killed including her, are way cooler and more important but also you should ignore the ending of the game to go do the dlc like she is basically breaking the 4th wall to say that you need to do the dlcs or you'll miss your chance and that the high stakes race to the end zone will be paused indefinitely just because but at that point i already hated the game so i just went to the endzone and like every confrontation was with some guy doing a whole song and dance about our rivalry but i met them all like once because 3 out of 4 major factions are just racist colonizers so i just kill them and move on and then the big guy lets you watch him do the thing he came to do and if you try and stop him you fail no matter what so the entire game is literally pointless cause without your involvement he still just runs to the end and kills all the gods including himself except he didnt kill them he just removed their ability to interfere with the world except then avowed dropped and it turned out they could still interfere with the world

i keep having dreams where zero parades is like universally agreed to be the best game ever made but i have no idea what even happens in that game so the dreams are just regular dreams where nothing happens but i sometimes think about playing zero parades

gladius generally a fun game but it gets frustrating when you fight a regular weak unit and you have to use every single one of your actions to kill it because it had 0.7 health left after you used all your powerful shit more pressing is the fact that leaving the ai/other players alive for too long means constant skirmishes that you'll probably lose if it's ai because they bring their full army everywhere in one group and then you get small territory and low resources so you lose and if you make an actual war effort and kill other factions you run the risk of losing time, troops, and resources hunting two while the third one snowballs and attacks with 7 times the troops you have which is all well and good it's a strategy game right but then every faction also has their personal storyline to go through which makes it much more enjoyable than just starting a game and putting all resources towards killing the other factions but if you go along with that storyline you spend so much time not really advancing and you have to stay at home to defend from spawned in npc assaults or go hunt npcs across the map which also just leaves you vulnerable to an ai that snowballed cause it didnt do that so unless you play on easy you're kind of in a situation where you can try do finish your faction's storyline and get completely overwhelmed and die or just play well and kill the other factions in a fair match and not get to finish your story

i do get a thrill when i download a game from fitgirl and the comments are filled with people complaining about corrupted files or other problems that make it impossible to play and then i finish installing and everything's fine i have her favour

am i insane or is the re4 remake the last game capcom released that included a female character that did literally anything other than fawn over the male protag like i guess they released a few games with a customizable protag but the idea that these characters could ever actually be girls is a polite fiction it is always written by and for men and the story of wilds is entirely about a male character and there's re9 which is to my knowledge the only leon re game that doesn't include ada the only female characters are grace, emily, and sherry like what happened that made capcom writers so scared of women in the last few years
