ok this is my last post about voltron forever but im just gna say it.... Lance and Keith’s endings should have been switched. Keith, who was incredibly talented but didn’t want to be a leader, should have completed his arc by retiring to be a farmer, still helping people but letting himself relax. Lance, who was so ambitious but couldn’t quite get ahead on earth, should have found himself as a paladin and honored Allura by stepping up as a leader and continuing the relief effort. Imo that makes much more sense than what happened

Just for the record, it is really really difficult to get clearance to integrate LGBT+ stories into a remake, even though it's in Netflix, even in 20gayteen. It's totally fair to be upset but directing that anger at any one person won't help and probably isn't fair to them

#they do have limitations that they arent allowed to talk about #i know theres a lot of talk about the execs trying to get brownie points but if you really look at everything theyve changed from voltron 1 #its incredible!! viltron defenders of the universe was the story of 3 macho white boys who were in love with allura #and then pidge whos just comic relief #so vld realllly has taken that and turned it into something better and beautiful #you in no way have to be greatful but its just nice to remember #also uhh 5 years ago lgbt rep in an animated series would not have been a conversation.#people would have seen feminine lance and went uwu they made a gay coded character thats woke #and even in 2016 when the show started it wouldnt have been expected of voltron at all #i guess by that point people were already aware of the bury your gays trope but idk #it sucks! but companies everywhere are seeing that audiences are ready for more. this problem will get better i guess

#i had a good day! and there was a lit of good in that season #i think some of the choices they made were tone deaf a littke offensive and a lot annoying BUT #i genuibely dont think it was written maliciously. and i think the last season is gonna be good #i didnt love the season but when it was good it was really good #i think theyre going to do shiro justice even though they didnt do the lgbt rep factor as a whole justice
