Things you’ll need:

1 inch thick styrofoam sheet thingy (they have them at hardware stores for $2 ish)

Grout (color can be whatever you want)

Styrofoam safe glue

Mod podge

Water based waterproof sealer (this is sort of optional but I’m including it anyways)

Cut Styrofoam into the shapes you want and stick the pieces together with toothpicks

Make sure it fits by putting it in the cage (turn off the heat lamp first though because Styrofoam gives off fumes and melts in heat)

Make any adjustments and glue it together with Styrofoam safe glue. Wait 24 hours for it to set.

Mix up some grout and water. This batch should have the consistency of soup.

Paint the basking thing with the liquidy grout. Make sure to get into every crack.

Wait until the previous layer of grout is dry to add more layers. Every layer should be slightly thicker than the last. You should do at least 5 layers with the last one being a slightly runny paste.

Wait 24 hours to give the grout time to dry.

Mix mod podge with the water based water proof sealant to create a soupy mixture.

Paint on mod podge.

Repeat steps eight and nine 3-5 times but make the mixture thicker each time

Spray with waterproof sealant  on the last layer while it’s still wet.
