pitch: Shiloh Abaddon knows there’s something wrong with him. He’s tried to be good – he really has – but The Angel says otherwise. That itching mass of self hatred and guilt is bubbling its way to the surface, threatening to burst out into a disgusting mess and expose his long-buried secrets. Shiloh will do anything to prevent that. Blood makes atonement for one's life, but it seems that his blood won’t cut it. With the help of a mysterious newcomer, Shiloh turns to a more violent approach of repentance. 

genre: religious horror, southern gothic

setting: a dying town in the deep american south, a home with bloodstained floorboards, and the woods that listen too closely.

themes: religious indoctrination, queer identity in the 1980s, generational trauma, toxic codependency

cast: Shiloh, a deeply repressed boy with an angel in his head. Jordan, a runaway who can't stomach meat anymore. Reuben, a child who barely exists.

status: outlining + first draft. planning to be a standalone novel.
