Kathryn Bowen creates luxury garments engineered for a woman seeking longevity in her wardrobe by refocusing attention on lost values in garment construction; considering time-honoured tailoring and couture construction techniques allowing for careful attention to detail, fit and functionality. The brand’s soon-to-be signature pieces include a mix of distinctive tailored silhouettes, uniquely assembled silk evening dresses and refined outwear. Each consecutive season both quality and versatility will be key features of the collection’s range, introducing garments such as two-piece trench coats with utilitarian components and garments that can be worn in variations. As a London College of Fashion Womenswear graduate, Kathryn worked closely with designer Yang Li assisting him for four seasons. Her prior experience includes interning for international luxury designers Jonathan Saunders in London and Marc Jacobs in New York before returning to Canada in 2017. During this process she worked alongside a skilled couture seamstress to learn the craft of traditional handwork and precision that significantly enhances the fabrication, fit, and uniqueness of a garment; a process that allows for a higher level of impeccable execution in manufacturing.
