 Jeff smiles and takes another sip of his cold coffee, cradling it with his other hand. His bright blue eyes looking over Varik with concern.

 “Yikes.”

 He gripped onto his coffee mug a little tighter and looked away, the gears in his head turning a mile a minute. He always thought was a bit of an expert on bad fathers, but Variks father was so wildly different than Doctor Andonuts that he didn’t know what to do. If he was willing to battle that nurse for custody, what else would he do to have Varik back…?

 He hated having to be this cautious, but he did have a fiancée to worry about. He cradles his cold spiked coffee in his hands and looks solemnly out the window.

Jeff can feel his face quickly reddening as he drops his screwdriver into the invention he’s working on, sending sparks shooting out. That’s exactly how Jeff feels right now… shocked, but flattered. He lets out a laugh that feels too close to a giggle.

 Jeff smiles and looks away, rubbing his arm idly. He didn’t want to admit he had insomnia and was too nervous and self-conscious to try and sleep in the first place. But he looked up at Ness and tried to keep his expression free of negativity.

 Jeff quirks up a small grin despite his fatigue and looks back over at Ness. It had been a while since anyone had really cared about how much he slept, especially since Tony was no longer there to put him to bed.

The red haired boy was quiet in sitting on a swing just watching the other kids as they avoided approaching him. It’s not like he’d blame them however. The boy quietly staring as he watched the kids talk to their moms. He wished his mom was here. But she wasn’t. Varik quietly looking at his feet as he simply swung in silence

 “Goo’ dog.”
