Pixie Dusk and Dawn

Hey beauties, I went a little crazy and tried some Mac products (which I have never tried before) and I thought I'd let you know what I think!

So, I tried to get one of each category, that I would use of course. And just a warning, I did not like these products! I'm not bashing them by any means at all, and if they work for you, more power to you! Let me know if I'm just using these products incorrectly or any tips or tricks...

Studio Tech Foundation: I got mine in NW15 which was actually almost perfect and I only used the foundation finder on their website. I do like this foundation, it seems a little tiny bit cakey but not to were people would notice. I got a foundation brush to go with it and I liked the way it applied. Blush in Blushbaby: Okay guys, I do love this! If I'm going to spend my pay check on Mac, I think it will be on blush! This goes on beautifuly and works with my skin tone amazingly. Veluxe Brow Liner in Brunette: This is nice too, its almost too dark (and is now that I'm having a hair crisis): ...) but it goes on smoothly and has a spooly which is nice to have. Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle: I know this is a cult favorite and it is beautiful... I just don't see the hype, it seems like my other glittery highlights. Eyeshadow Palette in Inner Strength: Did I get a defective one?! Beauties, I could not get this eyeshadow to blend to save my life! I was so disappointed I don't even know what to do with it... its terrible and I've heard so much good things about Mac eyeshadows. The colors are gorgeous and I just wish it would blend. Zoom Lash Mascara in Brown: I didn't have high hopes for this guy since I've heard that Mac mascara isn't the best... but it wasn't terrible. For the price, it isn't worth it. But it wasn't the worse I've tried, just a little clumpy. Paint Pot in Painterly: This is also a cult favorite, but I'm not feeling it... The color and everything is nice although the texture is strange, a little sticky. Fix Plus: I think I need to use this product a little more to make a decision about it, I keep forgetting its in my drawer.

Alright beauties, don't kill me over this! Let me know if you have any ideas or things I should try.

What I got:

Nars Laguna Bronzer: I've never tried this before, what?! I'm hoping this product is worth the hype. Dior Amber Diamonds: So gorgeous! The packaging makes me swoon and I just want people to see the beautiful colors, I cant wait to make this my new highlight color. Benefit Hervana Blush: Now this looks like the perfect everyday blush color! Its so simple yet stunning. And am I the only one who noticed this smells good? Lorac Pro Palette: Ah! I'm so ecstatic to try this! The colors are so rich and wonderful, I can easily see this becoming a new favorite. Bobby Brown Creamy Concealer Kit: Also a cult favorite I haven't tried, I'm hoping this guy will cover my dark undereye circles. DKNY perfume: What can I say, I'm a sucker for sales(;

This stuff is amazing, beauties! You can use it for everrrything! Its safe on your tattoos and your lips, you can also flip it over and recognize every single ingredient. I use it on my cuticles and it leaves them looking healthy and keeps me from getting those gross skin pieces. Elbows, feet, knees, makeup removal, and still haven't made a dent in this bad boy!

I thought I'd start this blog with something I have a love-hate relationship with: mascara!!

We all have the one mascara we cannot live without and I'm sure we all have a mascara or two we have in the bottom of our makeup bag that we avoid at all costs.

The bad: Loreal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara

Now, I love the spidery lashes on some of you beauties, but on me, no bueno! And the fat wand with the short stick is so hard to work with all of my baby lashes in the corner and on the edge were completely ignored.

That fat wand also left all my precise eyeshadow blending work good for nothing! It left pesky dots and smudges all along my eyelid. The formula of this mascara was so wet and took much too long to dry that it transferred to my little blonde bottom lashes and after a few minutes and I was in raccoon town!

This mascara did have a fun initial primer that turned my eyelashes bright white and let the length of them soar to the ceiling-so this was a good idea! Although after the primer dried and you start with the mascara coat it seems to just be brushed away and you lose the length with it.

I left this mascara in my collection hoping it will dry out a little. Let me know if you beauties have an application tips that can help me out!

The Good:

Now don't call me out on this, I have too many mascara loves to count! Let me tell you about two amazing volumizing ones that are a staple in my collection.

The Drugstore: Maybelline New York the Rocket Volum' Express

Talk about gorgeous lashes, this picture does not do this mascara justice! This is also a wetter formula but it dries quickly and does not leave your lashes crunchy. When I wear this mascara I feel like I'm wearing falsies and my lashes are visible and beautiful even through my thick rimmed glasses!

This wand is very fat and has short rubberized bristles. I was a little intimidated to put it near my eye but its surprisingly easy to work with! It can even get your baby and bottom lashes with ease and without clumping or smudging.

My only warning would be to not forget to clean the excess mascara off the end of the wand.

High end: Sephora Outrageous Volume Dramatic Volume Mascara

Holy volume! I don't know if you beauties can see it through the poor quality, but you can take my word for it! This mascara is a keeper! After one coat my eyelashes were so thick I could see them when I blinked. And this baby lasted all day without budging and still looked just as beautiful as when I put it on. After two coats, I was worried I would stop people in there tracks from the crazy amount of volume it gave!

My only complaint was that it didn't give much length (but with that volume who cares?!)
