Adorable…”      Has Emma completely missed the point, or is she playing dumb? Who knows! 

he deflates some when she speaks, shoulders drooping and a soft sigh leaving him. “i’m sorry, i don’t know how to be… less. like this.”

      Nate quietly watches the scene unfold. He leans his face onto his knuckles, in turn bracing his elbow on his knee. There’s no telling what exactly she’s telling that plant, but it’s strangely endearing and — honestly? Fascinating. His eyebrows gradually climb up his forehead until they can go no higher. He wishes they could; his astonishment only further burgeons as the plant literally regenerates in front of his eyes. It holds his stare until she Pandora speaks up again. That’s when his wide-eyed gaze veers her way — albeit only after a quick double-take.  ❛  Yeah. Huh. How — how’d you do that?  ❜

      A FROWN CREASES OVER DULL FEATURES.    that’s definitely not good.    josh’s only heard about a couple of dream walkers , but he knows the experience isn’t good.    ❛    –    weird … okay.    are they like bad dreams or are they just weird ?    i might be able to go into your dreams , but we’re gonna have to be careful.    ❜

            there is an unpleasant feeling in her chest at the sound of the words. no one’s ever spoken to her like that. her words remind her of nick’s, however, truths he’s told her before. but she never listens, does she ? self-destruction is in her dna. she’s an all consuming forest fire, destroying everything around her until it takes her with herself, at the end. 

              ❝ i know that, ❞  zara sighs, voice low, gaze diverted. because on top of everything, she is also a coward.  ❝ but i want to, ❞ these words come out in barely a whisper, audible but almost not. it’s hard to admit to it, to wanting to love her and care for her and be gentle with her. it’s hard to admit to something that makes one so vulnerable. zara’s not used to being vulnerable, to giving up her heart to someone else. especially when they  deserve so much better than what she has to offer. pandora might not be made of fragile porcelain, but zara only pretends not to be.

‘i like you,    you know that?’    her tone is much softer now.  whatever annoyance or disappointment that clouded her voice is long gone seeing zara in front of her.  they’re not touching - but she can feel the vulnerability radiating off of her.
