Chocobro Friendship headcanons:

During the Ten years of Darkness, Iggy, Gladio and Prompto would often get together on August 30th to celebrate Noctis's Birthday while he was away in the crystal. While for their birthdays, they often got cards for each other due to having to fight off daemons.

Monopoly (The board game) was banned in the group due the many times Prompto and Gladio ended up fighting. (Monopoly is a very evil board game.)

Ignis would often bake a cake for each of the other bros birthdays. Which in turn, lead to Noctis and Prompto trying to make a cake for Iggy on his birthday one year. (They failed horribly). So Gladio went out to buy a cake last minute while Noctis and Prompto cleaned the disaster they made in Iggy's kitchen.

Ignis remembers specific specific desserts that the bros like on their birthdays. For example, Gladio like Vanilla Cupcakes. While Noctis likes anything with chocolate. And Prompto probably likes it to look like a chocobo (But is either flavored like caramel or funfetti).

They often play video games together and suggest news one to try out.

An independent, self financed, self distributed, self directed, self acted film set in one shoe-box sized room not only opened already making profits but has held #1 box office in the US this weekend and may honestly by a slim but completely doable chance hold #1 in the face of a new release by a powerhouse director and a corporate machine industry titan (Sam Raimi's Send Help, distributed by 20th Century)

Even if it doesn't, Mark just released that the projections put Iron Lung within half a million dollars of the projections for Send Help.

This is a massive massive shake up in the film industry and I would put money down that there are corporate suits out there sweating over emails, scheduling emergency meetings for Monday.

This is the second wind Hollywood needed.

I never said romantic relationship are less important or deep or meaningful than platonic ones. Neither one should be above one another. What I DID say is that gracerocky specifically is more meaningful by being platonic.

Why exactly is it more meaningful that they are platonic? Because in the current society we live in, everything is built and centered around romantic relationships. Platonic relationships are seen as less valuable, it's expected to prioritize your romantic partner over your friends, even if you've known your friends for much longer, people assume everyone will want to get married eventually, etc.

I could go on and on about this.

So the fact that Rocky and grace are each other's most important person, someone they'd give up their life for, while still being "just" friends and nothing more? In the current time where every. Single. Fucking. Story. HAS to include romance? A romantic subplot of some kind??? I DO actually think them being platonic is what makes their relationship so important.

This type of story almost always includes romance, even if it isn't the center of the story. It would have been so easy to give grace a love interest, it would have been so easy to make rocky a somewhat feminine being and have them fall in love.

But they didn't do that.

So yes, I do think this specific relationship being platonic is more important.

most noticably, his repetitive circling motion with his thumb over his empty knife holster (which he often touches for reassurance in a kind of muscle-memory reaching for a weapon that isn't there)

then his light tracing of the map, brushing his fingers over it to situate himself, and just the delicate way he handles everything in general, like he's trying hard not to damage anything (he's very physical/visual, he also uses his hands when gesturing directions)

when he finds the Eden pendant he ties it around his wrist to keep it secure, but he also holds it enclosed in his palm. he keeps it tight in his fist under his thumb. part reverence part anchor to home
