♡ Doremi is my fave but they are allllll my precious children🥹🪽🦋 I’m a huge Doremi kinnie!! 💞💘💝 Expect lots of Doremi posts in particular.

♡ I was first introduced to Doremi in April of 2022. I got interested in it because of a magical girl transformation compilation and I thought the Sharp transformation was the cutest. I got into it expecting it to be nothing but kiddy fodder; that I would treat like my new mascots or an aesthetic to adopt. Little did I know just how influential this anime would be. I started to become invested around two thirds into season one, and truly fell in love when I reached Sharp. Now, it’s my all time favourite anime. 🥺🥺💓💘

♡ I also like Saint Tail (both the anime and manga), Princess Tutu, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ashita no Nadja, Kodocha and lotsa other mahou shoujo. Other shows I like are Hey Arnold!, Bridgerton and O’Grady. 🍭🍬🧁🍪🌈💝🌤️

I've grown to like the Dokkan transformations!

They're really elegant and sleek and effectively reflects how they've matured. Furthermore accentuated by the fact it's the shortest one of the whole show. The lack of bells and whistles is crucial in underscoring the show's theme; however, one could argue bells and whistles are the whole appeal of transformation sequences. It's undoubtedly important narratively, but I won't lie when I say I am far more partial to the ornate ones. I mean, the sharp transformation is the whole reason I got into Doremi in the first place!!!

The character animation for the pretty witchy doremi-chi! part is very lively. Which, to be fair, is consistent in all the reused animation but is still a compliment nonetheless!!! !

I think it's interesting how it's called the cologne tap and not the perfume tap. I mean, the last season's equipment were also Western infuenced - a la the Patissier uniform. I wonder why they made this switch to more european terminology. Personally, I interpret it emphasising the girls maturity as aforementioned.

I want to bring attention to the fact that cologne's are not the same as a regular perfume.

Cologne smells lighter and is far less intense. Most importantly, they're more ephemeral than perfumes due to the low oil concentration rendering them only potent with frequent reapplication. This directly reflects the nature of magic. Magic is undoubtedly useful. There's a reason why it's a cornerstone in witch culture and why Doremi is drawn to it. However, convenience isn't always better. Doremi not only accepts inherent human plight of inconvenience but relishes in it.

The whole theme behind Ojamajo Doremi is that intentionally putting in the work, curating community and embracing compassion is indispensable. Witches are portrayed as facing a mental health crisis because of how reliant they've become on magic.

It's why weaving textile and fiber arts is the merchandise sold in Dokkan, it's by far the most taxing, strenuous and exacting out of the previous MAHO-Do's commodities.
