It can be extremely hurtful to these women who are reading and/or hearing what you say. It is body shaming. No one likes to have their features made fun of.

For example, I cannot help that I have thinner lips and that I’m not curvy. I actually never even noticed my lips are a bit thin until I started reading about how “ugly” “white” lips are. Luckily, I have high self esteem and I know that my beauty is not based off of how big my lips are and/or how curvy I am (just examples).

Others are not so lucky. Others, women of all races who pocess these “white” features, are not so lucky though. Some have crippling self esteems and you’re truly hurting them. You are making them hate themselves.

Why do you do this? Why do you go out of your way to call a feature that someone cannot control ugly? Why do you want to make people feel bad? Why do you want to hurt people?

You’re not body positive if you do this and “revenge” because you’ve been made fun of before is not an excuse.

Lesson learned. Pointing a gun at a cop and threatening to kill them will make you a hashtag. 

I don’t think you understand what murder is. 

Threatening to kill the cops makes lethal force lawful. Not murder.

Fighting someone and smashing his head into concrete (Trayvon) makes lethal self-defense lawful. Not murder. 

Ignoring police commands and reaching for a gun (Castile) makes lethal force lawful. Yes, I understand he actually wasn’t reaching for his gun. I personally believe this will go to trial to determine unintentional death or lawful. Still not murder.

The funny thing is both those cases are latino’s killing blacks. Not exactly a white race issue, is it?

Yoga Pants.

They’re comfortable, they’re easy to wash/dry, they come in neutral colors that go with just about anything, they’re easy to put on, and they’re cheap.

That’s $11 each. That’s a fraction of the price of these big companies that are trying to make these fancy wheelchair pants.

So don’t let these companies scam you out of dozens of dollars for really tacky ugly pants. Just go buy a few pairs of generic yoga pants. It’s what I wear. And it works. And they’re comfortable. Walmart also has a huge variety of yoga shorts for the summer. Or, if you want an even cheaper alternative, buy those soccer shorts with the elastic band.

Baltimore Country Police Fatally Shoot a Black Woman and Injure Her 5-Year-Old Child.

23-years-old Korryn Gaines has been shot by Baltimore County police on Monday. Her 5-year-old son was shot in a limb and taken to the hospital. The boy is expected to survive.

Three officers went to Gaines’ apartment in Randallstown at approximately 9:20AM to serve arrest on her and a man for traffic violations.

All the videos Gaines shot before she was shot and all her media are being deleted!

Can anyone tell me since when a 5-year-old child is a threat?!

And I understand exactly how privilege works: Because heterosexuality is the norm in society, it is easier to exist as a heterosexual as opposed to a homosexual because consumer products (e.g. a guidebook on how to impress girls is generally written for guys), media (e.g., a large number of heterosexual romances exist in TV shows and cinema compared to homosexual romances), and culture (e.g. a historic lack of systemic oppression against heterosexuals compared to homosexuals and a current, more widespread acceptance of hetereosexuality than homosexuality) are more often geared towards heterosexuals than homosexuals. This means that homosexual individuals may need to take extra time and effort to be understood as individuals and that they may not find acceptance in all groups due to their sexuality.

There also doesn’t seem to be a consensus among gays whether or not homosexual is a slur (and I deliberately didn’t use gay in my earlier statements because I didn’t want to exclude lesbians (after all, it’s LGbt. If “gay” was a perfect substitute for homosexual then we wouldn’t need lesbian). I know that GLAAD says it is, but no one here even brought up that homosexual was in the title of the thread, and the original poster is gay. Then there’s this thread as well in which many people found the whole idea ridiculous, unless it is used in a derogatory way.

as much as straight people wanna think that they’re all for lgb people, you still were socialized with biases against us that can’t be (and empirically aren’t http://www.newnownext.com/new-study-reveals-straight-people-are-more-homophobic-than-they-say-they-are/07/2015/) unlearned.

Also, by that article’s own admission, even implicit preference is shifting in favor of LGBT individuals, even if it’s slower than explicit preference.
